Manhattan Junior Crew Rowing Manhattan Junior Crew is a competitive co-ed rowing team for high-schoolers. We are a club sport.

Saturday and Sunday, October 7 & 8, Head of the Oklahoma, OKC, OK
Sunday, November 5, Frostbite Regatta, Wichita, OK

We successfully moved several boats from the boathouse to the river pond area at Tuttle, as high water levels have prevented us from launching from our dock. A big thank-you to Coach Wesley, our rowers that were available, and the some of college crew rowers who helped make the move possible. We appreciate your hard work!

We were able to unload the trailer and rig the boats this morning, and we're excited to resume our summer season on Monday.

The water level near the docks is still very high, so we may need to move practice to the river pond area at Tuttle. We'll make a final decision during our boathouse workday tomorrow morning.

It's great to have most of the team back in Manhattan and our boats back where they belong in the boathouse.

**The trailer made it safely back to the boathouse!** 🚣‍♂️

The trip to and from Sarasota, FL, was definitely an adventure—one tire blowout on the way there, another on the way home, plus some time spent tracking down a short in the trailer wiring. But every challenge was worth it to give our athletes the opportunity to compete and gain confidence using their own equipment.

We’re still incredibly proud of the amazing job our athletes did at Nationals and excited to see what the next year has in store. We’ll resume practice on Friday to unload the trailer and rig the boats. After all the hard work they put in over the last week, they’ve certainly earned a little break.

For MJC, the best is yet to come! 💛💜

This week has been absolutely incredible!

Our athletes were the only rowers at Nationals representing the state of Kansas, and that alone is something to celebrate. Even more impressive, we had two boats advance to the National Finals in the same event category—an amazing accomplishment for any team.

Despite the extreme heat today, these athletes showed tremendous determination, worked hard, and gave everything they had on the water.

The Four raced this morning, and we are proud to say they finished as the ** #6 Open Gender Four in the nation!**

This afternoon, the Doubles took to the water for the Open Gender Double B Final. Owen and Addie finished 3rd in their heat, earning an overall national ranking of ** #11**. Savannah and Layla placed 5th in their heat, securing ** #14** in the nation.

Think about that for a moment—** #11 and #14 in the nation!** What an incredible achievement.

We could not be more proud of this group. Their accomplishments on the water are outstanding, but what makes us even prouder is the character, dedication, and sportsmanship they demonstrate every day off the water.

Finally, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make this journey possible. To the parents and grandparents who supported and cheered on these athletes every step of the way; to our coaches, their spouses, and their children; and to every person who believed in us and supported our program—thank you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey. We could not have done it without each and every one of you.

Today, MJC had a well-earned day off the water, giving the team a chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy some time together!

This evening, our seniors were recognized during the Senior Graduation Ceremony at Youth Nationals, where USRowing honored graduating seniors from teams across the country. We are incredibly proud of our seniors and all they have accomplished. They have made a lasting impact on our team, and we will miss them tremendously when they head off to their next adventures this fall.

With one final day of racing ahead tomorrow, the team is ready to leave it all out on the water. We couldn't be prouder of everyone's hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the season, and we're excited to cheer them on one last time. Go MJC! 🚣‍♀️💜💛
