We had an incredible final practice day before heading to Nationals! The competition team worked through drills and enjoyed a beautiful day on the waters of Tuttle Creek Lake. We also had a quad made up of experienced rowers alongside a newer teammate who all put in some fantastic work on the water.

It’s hard to believe that today was our last day rowing at home before taking to the water for time trials at Nationals. The moment we've been working toward all season is finally here!

🚣‍♀️ **ONE WEEK TO GO!** 🚣‍♂️

In exactly one week, our nine Nationals-qualified rowers will take to the water for their timed trials at Nationals in Sarasota, Florida!

Tomorrow morning marks their final practice before the big stage. They’ll leave everything they have on the water, and the next time they race, it will be at Nationals.

These dedicated high school athletes are proudly representing Manhattan, Kansas, and our entire community should be incredibly proud of everything they’ve accomplished this season. Their hard work, commitment, and perseverance have earned them this opportunity, and now they’re ready to compete against the best in the country.

We had another great day of rowing. The nationals comp crew ran some drills down the dam and back while our newer rowers got some water time.

MJC welcomed some new rowers today and started off with a swim test. It is very important that all of our rowers can tread water for at least 10 minuted before we place them in a boat because sometimes the boats flip. Some of our more experienced rowers did flip today in the cove and were able to show the new rowers how to safely get their boat to the dock. Our Nationals competition team still worked hard today to prepare for Nationals next week.

Our high school rowing team has qualified for the National Championship, and 9 dedicated athletes will be representing our community in 3 boats.

We need help to cover travel, lodging, food, and boat trailering expenses, but we've only raised $2,650 so far.

MJC celebrated our end-of-the-year banquet tonight, bringing together our athletes and their families to recognize and celebrate all of their hard work throughout the season. We also honored our seniors, who will be greatly missed next fall.

Thank you to everyone for your dedication, effort, and commitment in making this one of our best years yet! We are incredibly fortunate to have such talented athletes on our team, and we're excited to have nine of them representing MJC at Nationals in just two weeks. We can't wait to see what they accomplish!
