Who doesn't like to look like a dancer in class? I'm not one (dancer) but for some reason I'm always drawn to the delicacy and grace of flows like this where, yeah it seems like your dancing-ish... might look easy... rotate , lift your arms, up and down, big deal.... BUT have you tried keeping your pelvis under the rib cage in this plié the whole time? Or bring standing heel off the floor, just holding the arms above the head is a challenge of its own, like try doing your hair for over 10 min and your shoulders are already getting a workout lol

This kneeling splits , short, sweet & spicy 🌶️ flow is one of my favorites for an all around leg work , the final layer was heel off the entire time and arms in front for long and slow pulses ☠️

What can i say. People say "traditional" or "classical" (mind you these are contemporary movements) Pilates is too restorative, as if that's a thing the body doesn't need during challenging and intentional movement. They're right, it is too restorative, also too challenging, too grounding and too centering 😮‍💨

My cuing "slow" , because I want them to understand one movement at a time, to notice things, coordinate and organize, be present and engage every part of their body , aaand I want to make sure I say TOES and not TOAST,
This was definitely the slowest part of the class , the last 8-10 min.

Not recorded, fancy single leg footwork with more rhyme and tempo, clients performing pikes and planks to perfection, unilateral, lower and upoer body control, reverse abs, core work that says "good luck laughing tomorrow" and ofc extensions that everybody needs 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Friendly reminder that Pilates is all of these things, it's a method, a system after all.
