What a wonderful time we had in Washington, D.C. celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Capital Dance Championships!

What an honor to attend such a special celebration of ballroom dance and three decades of this incredible competition. 💃🕺

A huge thank you to the wonderful organizers, John and Marianne Nicole, for creating such a beautiful event and making this milestone anniversary so memorable.

This couple chose to perform a mini routine as a way to grow, spend time together and share something they both love—dance.

She doesn’t know who Don Julio is—and, as she says, she doesn’t know his father either. 😂

But the minute Shane Jensen played this song during choreography, she was hooked.

The chanting. The timbales. The Salsa and Mambo energy.

Suddenly she was right back on the Hudson River piers, dancing Salsa with friends on a hot New York summer night.

For Kriss, “Moon River” takes her back to a high school dance, when she first heard the song and dreamed of someday learning to dance to it properly.

For Mark, it brings back an unforgettable Waltz he once performed with his mother—a treasured memory from both his dance journey and their relationship.

Now, together, they’re creating a brand-new memory with the very song that already means so much to each of them.
