We recently heard from our customer Matt G. about his experience with his Bergara B-14 R Prefit.

This past weekend he participated in the Alabama Long Gong Match (his second competition ever) with his new Bergara prefit. The first time he put any shots down the barrel were at this match. As you can see, the results speak for themselves. He placed first in his match and also tied for the Range Record! He mentioned that he was competing against CZ457's and Anschutz'. After the match he had several competitors approach him and ask him "How did you get that rifle to shoot so well?" and his answer was "My Bergara barrel from Whidden Gunworks." He also said to "Make sure that you have a quality barrel and good ammo."

About a month before putting his barrel to the test, he came to our shop and received a tour of our warehouse and machine shop. He is new to rimfire and knew of us from shooting centerfire and using our products. Matthew mentioned that he was impressed with our operation because of the quality of the products, fast service and friendly staff. He has some more matches coming up this year and we can't wait to see how he and his Bergara barrel perform.

When you ask John Whidden to describe his business, he likes to say it's a "Hobby gone awry". It started small with one Craftsman Manual Lathe and a love for shooting, combined with a curious mind. He would machine any round piece of metal he could get his hands on, and finally got the courage to do his own barrel, and then eventually for his friends. Suddenly, this seemed like a nice little side business. His first proprietary product was the Pointing Die System. And that is something we still sell to this day. As time has gone by, we have evolved and expanded to what we are today. It is truly due to our customers. We would like to say thank you for your support over the past 20 years. If it wasn't for you, John wouldn't have made it off the farm and into the machine shop.
