Tonight’s Friday Night Lights action is packed with excitement and celebration as two MNPS high schools officially complete their new turf field installations!

First, the Lawson Lightning will strike the field as they host the Clarksville Northeast Eagles in the inaugural game in Voltage Valley. The matchup is also the 102.5 The Game – Game of the Week, bringing all the action to fans across Middle Tennessee. Tune in to 102.5 The Game to catch every play, every first down, and every touchdown live.

Meanwhile, the John Overton Bobcats will take on the Cane Ridge Ravens for their first home game on the new field, and what better way to celebrate than on Homecoming night! Students, alumni, and supporters pack the stands for this evening’s special occasion.

Two new fields. Two big celebrations. One unforgettable night of high school football. Let the lights shine and the games begin!

The Nashville Civitan Club presents annual awards that include the Walter Nipper/A.D. Hancock Sportsmanship Awards for football and the Moss Oliver Awards for girls' and boys' basketball. The organization's newest award is the Scott Brunette Civitan Cup, which is presented to the school that earns the most points in Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) sports throughout the previous school year and named after long-time Metro Nashville Public Schools athletic director Scott Burnette.

The first recipient of the Scott Brunette Civitan Cup is Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School recognized for its overall athletic excellence in Division I boys' and girls' sports. Congratulations to the Firebirds on a job well done, as well as to all of the other award recipients.

The Nashville Civitan Club is a local chapter of Civitan International and has been serving the community for more than 100 years. Civitan International is a global organization of volunteer service clubs dedicated to helping people in their local communities. Civitans assist wherever there is a need, from collecting food for homeless shelters and volunteering at retirement homes to building playgrounds for children with disabilities.
