Today was a fresh start as the weights reset for Day 3 of the SAF National Championship on Lake Cumberland. This unique format gave additional teams an opportunity to qualify for the final day, regardless of how the first two days went.

The Nashville Scrappers weighed in two bass totaling 5 lbs. 8 oz., finishing 61st on the day. With more than half of the field unable to bring a keeper to the scales, the fishing remained incredibly tough. Our boys were just one fish away from qualifying for Championship Saturday.

While their tournament comes to an end, we’re incredibly proud of the way they competed all week against some of the best high school anglers in the country on a very challenging fishery.

A huge thank you to everyone in our community who supported these young men throughout the season and made this trip possible. Your encouragement, generosity, and belief in this team mean more than you know.

Safe travels home, Scrappers. Keep your heads up—we’re proud of you!

It was a tough day for our boys at the National Championship on Lake Cumberland. They weren’t able to get a scorable keeper in the boat today.

On Lake Cumberland, a bass must be 15 inches for a largemouth or 18 inches for a smallmouth to count, and those bites have been hard to come by. The lake is fishing extremely tough for the entire field, proving just how challenging this event really is.

Tomorrow is a new day. The guys are staying positive, keeping their heads down, and fishing hard. They need a big day to earn the chance to compete one more day.

Let’s all cheer on the Nashville Scrapper Fishing Team!

🎣 Day 1 was a tough one for the Scrappers, with only 1 keeper making it to the boat. Despite the slow start, they’re still in the hunt and ready to make a move tomorrow!

Currently sitting in 233rd place out of 410 boats, the team is staying focused and looking to climb the standings on Day 2.

Good luck, boys—keep your heads down and keep fishing! 💪🎣

Good luck to our Scrappers Garrett Westfall and Halton Howard at the TBF student national championship at Lake Cumberland this week!

This tournament is a multi day event! We will give updates daily and share more about the tournament as it progresses.

They traveled Friday & Saturday. Official practice days were Sunday, Monday, and half day today.

They have a good plan! Lake Cumberland is a big lake! They can weigh in three fish that are considered keepers for the lake. 15 inches for largemouth and 18 inches for smallmouth.

Congratulations to:

* Halton Howard & Garrett Westfall

Scrappers showed out this weekend at Lake Degray during the Arkansas High School Bassers event.

Our two teams were Garrett Westfall/ Halton Howard and Andrew Reese/ Wyatt Chesshir.

Howard/Westfall earned third place in the HS division with a limit of bass for 14.5 lbs. These guys have been in a slump and had a great event to get out of it before our upcoming state tournaments.

Thanks to our boat captains and support from the community

The Nashville Scrapper Fishing Team had two teams competing this past Saturday in the Arkansas Youth Bass Nation – Central Series event at Lake Millwood.

Fishing was tough across the board, and the newly implemented 15-inch slot limit made things even more challenging. Our anglers battled hard against 21 teams from all over the state and showed a lot of grit on a difficult fishery.

Wyatt Chesshir & Andrew Reese brought in 4 fish weighing 8.47 lbs, earning a strong 7th place finish!

Halton Howard & Garrett Westfall stayed after it all day and landed 1 fish weighing 2.6 lbs.

Proud of the effort, determination, and sportsmanship from all our guys this weekend

Congratulations to our Scrapper anglers, Halton Howard and Walker Chesshir, on an outstanding 4th place finish at the Futrell Marine Nashville IKON Winter Series!

This was a full adult tournament, not a high school event — and Walker and Halton were the youngest team in the field, competing against seasoned anglers, local legends, professional anglers and then including several father/son and father/daughter teams.

Walker, a former Scrapper, is now a freshman at the University of Arkansas, while Halton is still proudly representing Nashville as a sophomore.

They brought in a strong five-fish limit weighing 14.03 pounds, earning 4th place out of 49 boats — an impressive accomplishment by any standard.

To top it off, they admitted that one of the highlights of the day was beating Coach Howard and Coach E in the tournament — a memory they’ll never forget.
