It sounds so much easier and enticing to jump right back into what you have always done. But here’s the thing…
Your body is different now.
You grew a human. Birthed a human.
That’s a big deal.
And it has a significant impact on your strength. Your core. Your pelvic floor.
When you hop right back into fitness and act like nothing happened, theres a good chance your body is going to be like- whoa there, WTF.
And you will experience things like pain, pressure, leaking.
Most of the time this could just mean too much too soon. Other cases it could mean more.
So what’s a girl to do?
This is what we suggest, and although it isn’t the easy route and might make you say F that, this route will get you where you want to be Faster.
- Visit a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Learn about your new body. Rehab! Again you birthed a whole human (or more)
- Learn that slow is fast. Rebuild! Your body is different, you need to learn how to move again. Rebuild your foundation of strength First. Slowly introduce load, volume and intensity.
- Find a Postpartum Coach and program that will educate you, empower you and offer a strategy to get where you want to be.
