Nashotah Park Dog exercise area, hiking, picnicking, fishing, boating, sledding, winter hiking, snowshoeing, recreation courts, building rentals available.

Nashotah Park is a 443-acre park and is nestled among rolling hills, woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands. Nature trails lead through easily identifiable landscape types that were created by the last glacial advance over 10,000 years ago. The park continues to thrive in winter for cold weather enthusiasts who treasure mornings and afternoons spent on miles of groomed cross-county ski and snowshoe trails.

UPDATE 4/23: Tree removal is complete and the Large Breed Dog Exercise Area is back open.

The Large Breed Dog Exercise Area at Nashotah Park will be temporarily closed on Thursday, April 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow staff to safely address storm damaged trees.

This temporary closure is necessary for the safety of pets, park users, and staff. The Small Breed Dog Exercise Area will remain open during this time. We appreciate your understanding as we complete this work.

4/17 - Update: Power in the park is restored, and bathrooms are now open. Downed trees on the trail have been removed.

Outdoor enthusiasts, we've added two classes to our lineup of Community Science programs! 🦋 🍄 🔎

Participants can now register for our NEW butterfly field survey or returning fungi program! Join our knowledgeable staff and program leaders for an engaging, hands-on experience that brings science to life. Learn how scientists observe wildlife, collect and record field data, and contribute to conservation research. Then put your new skills into action – helping gather meaningful wildlife data that supports ongoing scientific efforts.

This program counts toward volunteer hours for those who need them and is welcoming to anyone who simply wants to participate. wauk.co/program
