This photograph goes back just about two decades to our first season at Narrow River Kayaks. Although much has changed during this time, my wonderful wife Stacey has been the one constant by my side, and I cannot overstate her importance throughout it all.
Before us, it was Robert Ryder whose vision it was to start the business in 1992 from the marina building below his apartment on the north side of Middlebridge before moving it across the street to its current location. The late Bob Eddy Sr. supplied us with the perfect setting to run Narrow River Kayaks from his property until the Town of Narragansett purchased it in 2012 and retained it for the same purpose. Itโs truly been an honor to build upon the foundation Rob started, and Iโve always kept his spirit and vision in mind. As Narrow River Kayaks enters its 35th season, it is time to pass the torch, and this season will begin under new ownership.
Itโs been a blessing to meet and work with so many great people along the way at such a unique and special place. I am eternally grateful to all the people who have supported and helped us over the years, including but certainly not limited to our friends and neighbors, partners in the watershed and the paddlesport industry, other businesses, organizations and members of the community, the Town of Narragansett, the Eddy Family and especially my family, our loyal customers and employees.
I am pleased that the business will be in very capable hands, remain at the same location it has for so long and that so many members of our team are returning for another season. Plus, I get to stick around for a while too and help new ownership with the transition. Stay tuned for more information about new ownership and the upcoming season, which is scheduled to begin May 23rd. Thank you to infinity and Paddle On! โ๏ธ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ถ
