CP Fitness Hi, I'm Chelsea Paul. I am a NASM and ACE certified personal trainer with 10+ years of experience working in the fitness industry.

🏋️‍♂️ is my superpower

🤸‍♀️Virtual Group Fitness Coach & Personal Trainer

💪I design and program group workouts that bridge the gap between 1:1 personal training & group fitness class I am an AFAA and Les Mills certified group fitness instructor, and a National Les Mills Presenter. I grew up running local races with my father, playing every single sport I could with my siblings, exerci

sing in my living room to workout DVDs, and attending fitness classes at local gyms once I was old enough to obtain a membership. I started weight training and developing workouts in my twenties because I struggled with body image, self-confidence, a nervous twitch that wreaked havoc on my shoulder and could not do a push up on my toes and move heavy furniture in the apartment I lived in by myself. I help people fall in love with fitness (and themselves) and discover what their bodies and minds can do. I teach people how to move and use their bodies to reduce pain and injury so everyday activities are more do-able and fun. I focus on constantly varied functional, strength, and metabolic conditioning. Each workout is designed to get you fit for life - to mobilize, stabilize, condition, and strengthen the entire body from the inside out. Each workout is customized and tailored to the individual client’s goals, fitness level, health and wellbeing, and capabilities. I help people create wiggle room within their fitness and food approach and learn how to navigate the middle ground between all or nothing and perfectionism.

It took 9 months to fit back into this dress!

This dress was uncomfortably tight in the back and mid-section when I tried it on in January 2021.

When I bought it in February 2020 I felt VA VA VOOOOOM! Sexy and womanly. Confident and beautiful.

When I tried it on in January 2021 I felt like I was trying to fit into something that hung in my closet from my high school years.

Nothing like a National pandemic, 4 month government shutdown and furlough, and a complete lifestyle change after a career upheaval to change the course of how one feels in the dress she said yes to.

I thought about buying a new dress.

I thought about dieting down like I had in my competition years.

I thought about taking up running again so I could lean out.

But then……

I stopped that nonsense and got clinical.

I have transformed 1000s of clients bodies and lives and knew exactly what to do and how to fit back into the dress.

➖Consistent and purposeful metabolic weight training
✔️moderate to heavy weights
✔️high reps
✔️minimal rest
✔️4 days a week

➖Moderation 365 nutrition approach
✔️navigate the middle grown between all or nothing, deprivation and indulgence
✔️focus on big dial movers- 600g+ of fruits and veggies and protein at every meal
✔️eat till I am satisfied rather than stuffed=portion control
✔️identify where I could pull back=alcohol, chips, and sweets

9 months later I slipped into my wedding dress and felt like Jessica Rabbit, J.Lo, and Beyoncé 🤣.

Sexy. Vivacious. Beautiful. Stunning. Happy.

My dieting down days are way behind me.

So Is running a million miles a week to slim out my legs.

Instead…..Lift weights consistently.

Stop eating like a teenage boy.

Control what you can.

And do your best with the rest.

1 more day!!!!

Are you as excited as I am? 🤣🤣🤣💒👰‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️👰‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️

1 more day till Mark officially becomes part of the family. Look at this crew!

I’m so glad they like this one 🤣😇🤣😇

As we near the countdown of our union- I know some of you are happy the countdown will stop 🤣- I am blissfully appreciative of the home we have made together and the family we are becoming.

Home is where the heart is…. But it’s also where we put our heads down after a long day and where we have been mostly for the last 18 months. 🤦‍♀️ I’m so grateful I’m marrying a man who values HOME just as much as I do and who has taken the time to make it feel like a place I never want to leave.

Family-whether blood or the people you have in your circle- are the people you get to celebrate with, mourn with, argue with, cheer with, eat with, drink with, and most importantly dance with! 💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

I started this countdown truthfully to get excited about the big day, for I had a very stressful summer and honestly felt a bit loss within it all.

Well it’s worked! I am definitely excited!

I wanted to share with you my journey of love and self-discovery and how I have truly leaned into the partnership I have found to trust that what we have is deeply real.

I wanted to hopefully to inspire you the reader to lean in also, to embrace love and joy, to acknowledge where you have come from, accept the pain and hurt you have experienced, and to never lose hope.

Most importantly, I wanted to write these words to celebrate life! It’s been a doozy these last few years. But knowing that I get to do it all with my best friend, my husband, my lover by my side makes all of the ups and down worth it.

Let’s all take a moment to be grateful for the love we have in our lives. The people we share that with. And the homes we nourish it in.

It is what it is…..

This statement used to infuriate me.

When I would hear this told to me I immediately would tighten up and feel pressure all up inside of me.

For all I would hear is “It is what it is and it won’t change.”

Inaction!

And that ⬆️ is the definition of stuck.

That is what infuriated me.

It’s like you get to a wall blocking you from moving forward and because it’s made of brick, 15 feet high, and obviously in the way then there must be no way around or over the wall.

So you turn around and say “it is what it is, I guess this is where I stay.”

I call BS to this!

Instead, let’s turn this overused statement into ACCEPTANCE AND ACTION and figure out a way to get around or over the stuff in the way!

1️⃣ Let’s use “it is what it is” as an acceptance tool for acknowledging the situation. This is what is happening. Identify it. And ACCEPT that it is what it is now.

2️⃣ Ask yourself, am I in control of what is, or is it out of my control? This is the sticking point for most progress and forward momentum.

Example:
➖The scale is not budging and your health is less than par each year. You 100% have control of this. 😳

➖Covid is running amuck and is affecting the fitness industry and millions of jobs. You don’t have control of that. But…….💁‍♀️

3️⃣ Then Take action now. Sticking with it is what it is in my opinion means you are not only accepting it but you are enabling and allowing it to persist.

I know, way easier said than done with weight loss and health, but ACTION BEGETS ACTION. What is one thing you can do now to establish better habits for your future health tomorrow?

And…… Even if you actually may not have control of the National pandemic, you do have control of figuring out the next best step in your career: like networking, creating new possibilities, updating resume, transferring skills to another industry, going out on your own. What can you do today to build a better future tomorrow?

Acceptance is key.

Action will unlock the door.

The truth is We all hit the wall sometimes in our lives.

It’s how you choose to get around it or over it that determines what actually IS.

“How long will it take to reach my goals?”

I have trained thousands of people to lose weight, build muscle, and get fit.

I do believe it’s important to set timelines with goals, but it’s crucial to focus on daily action, behavior changes, and the process of the outcome.

When working 1:1 with a client instead of setting definitive timelines for progress, we first:

1️⃣ Establish What you are working for and why- the deep rooted Why to your journey so this can lead your way.

2️⃣Define what your outcome looks like. What does success look like to you?

3️⃣Break the Big Outcome into Small achievements that you will work towards. Small wins produce the Big Victories.

4️⃣ Take action now. What can you do every single day to work towards your goals?

5️⃣Lean in to the process of progress. Fall in love with the progression. Embrace the daily practice of action.

6️⃣Practice resilience and relentlessly move forward , especially when you are pulled off your course. The next best step is forward.

Pro tips:

➖Lean into your journey of reclaiming your health, fitness, and wellbeing.

➖Embrace the process of daily action, changing your behaviors, and celebrating the small wins.

➖Focus on the big dial movers right from the start and become a master of those.

➖Avoid letting perfect be the enemy of good.

➖When the going got tough, check back in with your why.

What I do know for sure is that anything worth having or achieving takes time.

That your daily actions determine forward progression.

And that it’s inevitable that you may have to stop along the way, choose a different path, and reroute till you find your way again.

But if you know what you are working for and why you will always get to where you want to go.

What if I have to modify the entire workout, will I still get results? 🧐

I am asked this all of the time. 💁‍♀️

So let me be clear, 🗣 hell to the yeah to the F yes! 🎤🎤🎤🎤

But first, can we replace the word modifications with options?

Thank you. That will help decrease the shame, guilt, and self-judgement associated with having to “modify” an exercise because it’s too hard or makes our bodies hurt.

Options are opportunities for success. When we choose an option for a specific exercise or movement, we are doing what is best for us so we can stay in the work.

Options will:

➖lighten the load on the muscle

➖decrease impact on the joints

➖reduce risk of injury

➖enable you to continue to work around an injury

➖give your neurological system a chance to learn the movement

➖give you the confidence to keep on keeping on

When should you take the options?

➖Anytime you feel like it

➖when your body and mind needs it

➖when you are unable to execute the movement pattern correctly

➖when your form starts to go to sh!➕

➖when dealing with an injury

➖Anytime you feel like it

Will you still get results?

Yes.

But here are the caveats….

➖If you use light weight for the majority of the workout you will focus more on muscular endurance rather than big gains in strength but you will still gain definition and muscular fitness.

➖If you have to avoid a specific exercise and replace it with a different exercise that doesn’t hurt you may lose out on the benefits of one exercise but gain the benefits of another.

➖If you lower the impact and intensity of a cardio workout due to fitness level or joint issues, you may lose out on the benefits of cardio peak and HIIT training, but you will still gaining fitness, improving cardio output, and burning calories.

And here is how you still get results no matter the option you have to take:

🗣🗣🗣INTENTION‼️‼️‼️

So lighten up the load, reduce the intensity, take more breaks.

It’s your intention that will determine the benefits of the workout!!!

No shame. No guilt. No judgement.

Only options!

(Check out the new reebok line..it will make you feel fierce no matter option you take)

When I first started out as a group fitness instructor I was a box checker. I was quite militant. 🤣

I literally was like:

Do this. Not that.

Move this way. Not that way.

Follow the rhythm. Follow me. Do what I say.

Push! Work hard! Don’t quit. Never settle.

🤦‍♀️

I once overheard someone say in the locker room, “she’s tough, I feel like I can’t mess up.”

I was peeing 😂 and quickly put my feet up so no one would recognize my pink sneaks.

I stayed on that toilet for 20 min.

After that I was told by a well respected instructor peer, “some people feel they can’t go to your class because they are not good enough.”

There was a lot of whisky after that conversation. 🥃💣

I knew that were many people who liked my teaching style, who came to my class to and work hard, but those people came to the gym anyways. I didn’t have to motivate them to do so.

It was the newbie in the corner that I was intimidating and this was not okay to me. I had to do something about it.

So I committed to development.

I attended Les Mills Advanced trainings, submitted 3 track assessments, and attended workshops.

I focused on Connection and Performance .

I had some of the best trainers who helped me peel away the layers of perfectionism, discover my Why, tap into my purpose, and unleash my power.

One trainer asked me “how do you want them to feel when they leave your class?”

That was the moment I stopped doing it for me and started to do it for the people in front of me.

For the newbie in the corner. The women who was hurting. The guy who got bullied at work. The new mamma who was hanging on by a thread.

I started to have fun up on stage because I wanted them to have fun.

For a year, my only objective was to make sure that people laughed and smiled in my classes.

I danced a lot and made fun of myself!

They laughed. Smiled. They kept on coming back.

People started to enjoy themselves in my class.

I made real connections with my participants. Heck some of them are coming to my wedding!

Amazing things happen when you let go of what you think you are supposed to be and simply ask yourself how do you want people to feel when they are with you.

When will I start seeing results with weight training?

Ahhh, this ⬆️ question so commonly asked by my clients, friends and family, and those random people in the grocery store line who comment on my muscles. 💪

Such a loaded answer 🤪💣🔫💣🤪….but a valid question.

And over the 13+ years I have been training clients and teaching group fitness classes I have learned “It depends” - though it so does 😎- is not the answer they are looking for.

So the first three questions I ask in rapid fire are:
➖How long have you been lifting weights?
➖How many days a week do you lift on average?
➖What does a typical workout/program look like?

I need to get the lay of the land first before I begin giving someone who is obviously in need of some guidance and reassurance an answer.

And….this also helps the person asking the question get the lay of the land when it comes to their lifting frequency, their level of consistency, and their routine and program.

From here, I then will ask you😁:
➖What type of results are you looking for?
➖Why did you start a weight training program?

It’s crucial to understand what you are working for and why. To understand your expectations and the results you are looking to achieve.

Why?

Because this is where “It depends” has UTILITY.

This is where we can start to figure out if you are training according to your goals.

My objective with this line of questioning before I start to answer?

Is to actually get you to talk it out and hopefully be able to see that you may actually be getting results but -and here’s the rub- they may just look differently than what you are expecting because you may not actually be working out according to your goals.

Drop a 😳in the comments if this may be where you are at right now with your training.

Have you heard of the new book by

This is your next read. Put this on your reading list now.

Today, I am thankful for my Huddle!

My mom and aunts went out of their way to make it a special day. Pink decor. Unicorn party favors. Delicious food. And a porch outfitted with enough chairs to gather outside maskless.

My girls all showed up despite a hurricane reschedule, busy lives, broken toes, and a national pandemic.

I miss seeing all of my family and friends before the way we gathered completely got flipped on its head.

But what I find so amazing about the Female Huddles I have the honor to be a part of is that no matter how much time has passed we are all still in sync and as one.

I absolutely love when the different huddles I am a part of can come together to celebrate love, in turn uniting beautiful women of all ages and walks of life.

Today I celebrate women lifting women up. Cheering each other on. Women celebrating love, friendship, marriage, new jobs, and remaining intact after the last 18 months we have all had.

14 days till I say I do.

I now walk more confidently into the fear of "getting married again" knowing that I will always have the support of my Female Huddles. That I will always be lifted up and cheered on by women who genuinely care for and want the best for me.

Female empowerment is a necessary component of any successfully functioning society.

When we stand together to fight for a cause or merely celebrate love, we are unleashing our power and creating an undeniable impact on the world.

Women are leaders, creators, and fighters. We . We use our voices to make sure we are heard and listened to. We are caretakers, making sure we got each other's back.

Today I am reminded of all the special women in my life and want to send a very loud, primal shout out to those who have shaped the woman I am today.

Thank you for having my back. For holding space for me. For knowing when to fix it or talk it out.....and most importantly when to DANCE it out!

For It is your grace and acceptance that has helped me grow into a woman I can look at in the mirror and say "Well done, you are doing a great job."

I have trained 1000s of clients to lose weight, burn fat, gain strength and definition, increase self confidence, rehab an injury, etc.

Most want results now. Like this second.

And when it’s not happening NOW they get frustrated and blame themselves and the trainer and the program.

However, most of the time progress is happening.

It’s just not the outcome they want now.

Of course not! That outcome takes time.

But what about the small wins?

Like:
➖finally establishing consistency
➖positive changes in mood and mental well-being
➖improved movement patterns
➖increased strength and cardiovascular endurance
➖increase in body and SELF confidence

Long lasting results take time. It’s a step-by-step process that ebbs and flows, rises and falls.

It’s a daily practice of consistent action, mindfulness, and relentless forward progress. A commitment to making it a part of who you are and what you do daily to live a healthy, well, and fit life.

It’s the ability to avoid letting perfect be the enemy of good. And being able to recognize progress in its many different forms.

And, it’s about understanding that long term results are built on consistent action, incremental steps, and small wins that WILL eventually produce the progress you are in search of.

09/09/2021

When I first started getting my fitness back in my early 20’s, I was not consistent, nor had I established daily rituals to keep me on track, and they required a s**t ton of effort that for the first few years overwhelmed me.

Over time - and I’m talking like 5 years to become truly consistent with exercise and healthy eating - ex*****on of the habits and rituals began falling in place and the progress I began to see motivated me to keep on keeping on.

Here’s the catch…..

When it comes to passwords, computer file organization, inbox upkeep, and this whole new LMQ upskill that the Tap Team is learning I am anything less than put together!

Seriously!

My lack of organization and consistency are starting to bite me in the ass.

Ouch!

So, what do you do when you find yourself a bit of a mess in an area you would like to become less of a mess in?

Get clinical and take action.

➡️What is the end goal, the big picture? What do you want to achieve?

➖Establish one app all of my passwords are saved to.

➖Organize my inbox

➖Set aside time for LMQ and make a plan of all that I have to do to pass.

➡️Then, Reverse engineer the big picture into daily, actionable steps.

➖Download the app I will use to save passwords to.

➖Set up folders and categories in my inbox and on my computer.

➖Establish when and how much time I will devote daily & weekly to inbox organization and LMQ upskill.

➖Take action now! What is the first thing I can do to take a step forward towards the end goal?

Similar to establishing a consistent exercise and nutrition game plan, all of the above seems a bit insurmountable and extremely overwhelming.

I beat myself up daily for not having my s**t together when it comes to my inbox and organizing important stuff.

However, my inaction is not getting me anywhere.

So, today it’s time to let go of the should haves, would haves, and could haves and start putting into place the I wills and I cans.

Action begets action.

What is one thing you can do today to get where you want to go tomorrow?

And if anyone is a pro at organizing an inbox and computer drop your tips below or DM me, I’d love a bit of help.

09/08/2021

Body confidence is not just about having confidence in your aesthetic body, accepting all of your body parts for what they are.

I believe it’s more about having confidence in what your body can do, your body’s capabilities.

When we look in the mirror we see what we look like. We see the parts we want to change, to fix.

What if we started to look at these said body parts, and rather than obsessing over the cellulite or loose skin we would like to get rid of, we dig deeper to acknowledge the muscle and strength we have built?

What if instead of loathing the pudge on our bellies we celebrate the children we have birthed, the weight we have loss, and the shifts in our hormones that make us a woman?

What if instead of always working to trim, tuck, and tighten our bodies we begin taking up more space to create a bigger impact on the world we live in?

And …..

What if we focus less on the shape and form of our body and we begin to celebrate the power, strength, and resilience we possess in our souls?

Just a thought ❤️
