Organic Honey Truth
We saw this on another honey site and wanted to share change it a little and wanted to share our perspective on it.
We get asked if our honey is organic all the time. Most often, the customer really just wants to know if it is real, pure, unadulterated, local, raw honey. And when pressed a little, they’ll acknowledge that’s what they mean.
But to answer the question “is our honey organic?” No, it is not.
The truth is there is no organic honey produced in the USA.
Our bees are kept in the rural Oak Grove Napoleon Missouri area on the eastern edge of the Kansas City Metro most of the year and during honey season but there are near by farms and neighbors, a highway, gas stations etc.
Other than where we place their hive and the general radius they forage being a few miles, we can't really predict or control where the bees go.
And if at any time during the lifespan of that equipment that holds the hive, it has been near a town or farm then you can't say it's organic (at least honestly).
We can guarantee our honey local to our area. We can guarantee it is pure. We can guarantee that it is as is RAW and NATURAL as it can be, but it is not organic.
Any beekeeper in your town that claims they have harvested organic honey is not being honest with you.
So if you're looking for organic honey, outside of sourcing it from an isolated island state, you won’t find it. And importing it means it’s not local, doesn’t it?
