🐂 State Finals – Round 1

Well, it wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for today, but that’s rodeo.

Aaden drew a big, fast bull this afternoon and came up short of the whistle. The bull riding was tough across the board—not a single bull rider turned in a qualified ride today. That’s a testament to just how rank this set of bulls was.

One thing we’ve learned through this journey is that success isn’t measured only by the rides you make, but by the courage it takes to keep climbing back into the chute after the ones you don’t.

Aaden has worked too hard and come too far to let one round define his week. He’s healthy, he’s hungry, and he’s got another opportunity Thursday morning at 8:00 AM.

We’re thankful for every prayer, message, and bit of support from back home. Please keep him in your prayers as he gets ready for Round 2.

“The righteous fall seven times and rise again…” — Proverbs 24:16

One more bull. One more chance. One more ride.

Texas High School Rodeo State Finals Week ⭐

The wait is over. State Finals are here.
As contestants from across Texas gather to compete, remember what makes this association so special.

Flint Rasmussen said it best: “Texas is the standard.” Being a cowboy or cowgirl is about far more than winning buckles, saddles, or championships. It's about integrity when no one is watching, respect for others, hard work, faith, sportsmanship, and having the grit to get back up when things don't go your way.

This week, compete hard. Chase your goals. Give your very best every time you back in the box, nod your head, or enter the arena. But never forget that your worth is not determined by a stopwatch, a score, a catch, or a paycheck. What happens in the arena is something you do—it is not who you are.

Wear your hat with pride. Flint said “understand the principles and value of wearing your cowboy hat”. Represent your family, your region, and the great state of Texas with honor. Encourage your fellow competitors, celebrate successes, learn from setbacks, and remember the values that brought you here.

At the end of the week, the buckles and banners will find new homes, but your character is what people will remember long after the dust settles.

Good luck to every contestant competing at the 2026 Texas High School Rodeo State Finals. You make Texas proud!

🐂 State Finals Check-In Day 🐂

Today starts the week we’ve been working toward all season.

From the practice pen to the bright lights of the Texas High School Rodeo State Finals, it’s been a journey filled with long miles, early mornings, setbacks, victories, and a whole lot of faith.

As we check in today, we’re reminded that success isn’t just measured by buckles and standings, but by the character built along the way. No matter what happens in the arena this week, we’re proud of the young man Aaden has become and thankful for every opportunity God has given him.

“You are the salt of the earth…”
— Matthew 5:13

Aaden has always tried to live by this verse—working hard, staying humble, and being a positive influence both in and out of the arena.

We’re excited to see what this week holds. Thank you to everyone who has supported, prayed for, encouraged, and cheered him on throughout the season.

🌵 A Little Update from The Floured Cactus 🌵

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, and for good reason! We’re in the final stretch of preparations as we get ready to head to the Texas High School Rodeo State Finals with Aaden next week. 🤠🐂

I wanted to let everyone know that The Floured Cactus will be temporarily suspending new orders until we return home on June 14th. Current orders are being completed and will be ready as scheduled.

Thank you all so much for your support, encouragement, shares, orders, and kindness. This little baking adventure has been such a blessing, and it’s because of customers like y’all. ❤️

For the next couple of weeks, you’ll probably see a little more rodeo content and a little less sourdough content around here. We appreciate your patience while we cheer on our bull rider and make some family memories.

We’ll be back in the kitchen soon and ready to fill your sourdough cravings when we return!

🌵🥖 See y’all June 14th! 🥖🌵

🐂🔥 ONE WEEK TO GO! 🔥🐂

In just ONE WEEK, Aaden “Hotrod” Foster will be headed to Abilene to compete at the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals!

This season has been anything but easy. Through injuries, long drives, late nights, and countless hours of hard work, Aaden has stayed focused on his goal—and now he’s earned his spot among the best bull riders in Texas.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported him along the way. Every sponsorship, calendar donation, share, prayer, and word of encouragement has helped make this journey possible.

We still have a few fundraiser calendar spots available to help offset travel, lodging, fuel, and competition expenses for State Finals.

If you’d like to support Aaden’s journey, now is the time! Every dollar helps and is appreciated more than you know.

Thank you for believing in this cowboy and helping him chase his dreams. ❤️

Just a little tune-up before state 🤘🏼

Made the trip to JC Knapp Arena yesterday for some practice pen action. Got some good work in, knocked the rust off, and feeling thankful for every chance to climb on before heading to Abilene.

Still learning, still growing, still chasing the dream one ride at a time. Appreciate everybody that’s helped me get this far. State is getting close 🔥🐂

Two weeks. That’s all that stands between Aaden and the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals. 🤍🐂

This season hasn’t been easy — there’s been long nights, injuries, hard lessons, buck offs, rebuilding confidence, and getting back up anyway. But if there’s one thing about Aaden “Hotrod,” it’s that he never stops preparing himself for the next ride.

While most people only see the 8 seconds, they don’t see the hours behind it:
the workouts, the practice pens, the soreness, the sacrifices, the traveling, and the determination it takes to keep chasing this dream.

His state finals calendar still has a few open spots, and every single donation goes directly toward helping cover fuel, stalls, entry fees, lodging, and expenses for Abilene.

If you’d like to support Aaden on this journey, we would be beyond grateful. Even small amounts help more than you know. Most of all, we appreciate the prayers, encouragement, and people who continue believing in him.

Thank y’all for helping a hardworking cowboy chase a dream. ❤️

Some nights, the bull wins. 🤠
Last night in DeQueen, Arkansas, Aaden showed a whole lot of try and grit… it just ended in a good old-fashioned buck off. That’s rodeo. You get up, dust off, and do it again.

Tonight, he’s headed to Winnsboro, Texas to climb back in and keep chasing the dream. We’re officially counting down to State Finals, and every ride is part of the journey.

If you’d like to support Aaden on his road to State, his calendar fundraiser is still open! Thank y’all for every prayer, share, donation, and word of encouragement along the way. ❤️🐂

After 6 weeks off due to injury, it was time to jump back into it. Second ride at Region IV just come up a little short, but it’s time to keep rebuilding strength and move forward.
