TIPS ⬇️

1. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Make it your mission but back-up-your-reasons-why.
Example, salary increment.

2. Don’t leave financial application forms such as Child Benefit (national insurance stamps for state pension) or Junior ISA’s (tax efficient nest-egg) until after you’ve had the baby, complete & set-up as much as poss BEFORE your baby comes along.

3. If planning on being out of work for sometime ensure you plan expenses Pre & Post baby to manage expectations, budgets, return-to-work planning, nursery/childcare registrations, pension contribution ‘continuity’ while absent from earning money yet still building your pension pot whilst at home with the kids (if possible)!!

4. Utilise GOV.UK website for information such as tax free childcare, maternity allowances or statutory maternity pay. What else can you qualify for ?

5. Renters - Try & rent for very little whilst saving for a mortgage. Share with family or friends, rent the smallest room, live further out to keep costs down so more money for saving.

6. Pensions - Cross-check you have info in all historical pensions. Use your CV to backtrack . Check what you opted into. These legacies are your future income in retirement. Contact the Pension Tracing Service 0800 731 0193 for help.
