It's the official start of a New WW Year with our week 1 topic, PORTIONS 101. Join the hands-on fun at this week's meetings, and in the mean time make a small change commitment beginning today to 'weigh & measure food more accurately'. Some suggestions:
1) pick one meal this week, for example Dinner, and weigh/measure all components
2) Pre-portion out the next 5 days worth of healthy-on-the-go-snacks, then take then with you
3) Purchase after dinner treats in single-serving packages, then commit to having only one a night

See you on either--> Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. OR
Thursday at 10:30 a.m. / 12:00 p.m., oh, and here's to resolving to KEEP GOING in 2015!

Did you know that straight bar lifts, as well as lot of the fitness equipment in use today, can mask a 60-40 participation between the left and right sides of the body. It’s very obvious on the bench press or the squat that torques, twists, turns and bad form are really us trying to muscle one side because we’re substandard or inefficient on the other side.

The best way to get the twist out of your squat is to first make sure both legs have symmetrical mobility, symmetrical stability and then symmetrical strength—in that order, not in that reverse order that most people attempt.

Are you trapped in the "oops-punish-repeat" cycle? That's when you make up for an unplanned splurge (or even an all-out binge), by punishing yourself with starvation and/or hours of exercise for the next three days. You know your in the cycle deep when you actually start intentionally justifying an imminent binge by vowing to make up for it over the next few days. If this is you, STOP the cycle today!

Try to think of each meal as an opportunity to make a healthy food choice, and each day as your next opportunity to be active in a way that's fun, engaging & safe. Learn from experience, but leave the 'oops' in the past where it belongs!
