Champion Baseball would like to welcome Luke Hays as our 2024 13u Coach.

Coach Luke has had a love for baseball since he was very young and it continued through High School and onto College. He was a 4 year starter in his college career, playing for Treasure Valley Community College his first 2 years as a third baseman and then transferred to College of Idaho as the starting left fielder. In his time at C of I his team won the NAIA College World Series in 1998, making the All-Tournament Team and was College World Series runner-up in 1999.

After College he began his coaching career at Skyview High School. He was the Freshman Head Coach for 3 years and then moved up to the Varsity level as an Assistant Coach. He spent 3 more years in that position before moving to Borah High School as an Assistant. His year at Borah the team won a State Championship.

Luke has been married to his wife Ylonda for 22 years and has 3 children that keep them very busy with athletics. Hudson and Brooks play football and baseball. His daughter Maris (Named after Roger Maris) is active in Track, Cross Country and Volleyball. He loves every minute of his hectic sports schedule and is excited to be back to competitive coaching at Champion Baseball. He is looking forward to developing the next generation of great baseball players and young men.

Champion 13u tryouts will be August 7th 6:30-8:30 and August 12th 10 am at Skyview High School.
