Out playing with the new hotrod. Keep having to tell myself "don't turn left, just go straight!" First time in 25 years since I've been on a straight line track. Racin is Racin, it's still a blast!

Bitter sweet night last evening. Went and watched/helped the young man that purchased our hot rod. Completely different watching that car on the track verses being in it. Both the car and gentleman did their job very well. For never being in a Latemodel before, he had it within 4 tenths of last year by the end of the night. I can't wait to see what he does with it this year!

After allot of thought and deliberation, we have decided to take a step back from racing for a bit. The 3R Racing Team won't be putting a car on the track this season. The 2021 season really taxed our mind, body, and wallet(lol). We've decided to sell the new, last year, hotrod to another local up and coming racer and see what he can do with it. Not saying we are done racing, just taking a break for a bit. None of this would have been ever possible without the support and help of my amazing wife Jeanette, Danny Martin of , and our sponsors, ,

Well still be out there cheering and wrenching!
See you all at the track!

The 2021 season has finally come to an end. It has been one heck of a season from the start. Ended up finishing in 7th place, 1 point behind 6th in a 32 car field. Very happy to finish top 10 in this class of cars and drivers.

It's been the toughest year of racing that I've ever had. Two different cars, one wrecked and destroyed halfway through the season, building and learning the other to stay competitive with only missing 1 race.

This season would have not been at all possible without the help and support of a bunch of people. First and foremost, my amazing wife, Jeanette Woods, for letting me do this mid-life crisis sport! Danny Martin of D29Racing, for all the hours of working on the cars on and off the track, I couldn't have done it without you! Sam Newcomer of Sam The Pirate Racing, without your knowledge and assistance, we wouldn't have been anywhere close on setup on either car. My son-in-law Cole Kelsay and cousin Frank Killian for the extra hands and assistance at the drop of a hat.

And last, but very much not least, our amazing sponsors that have supported and stuck with us through this turbulent season. We are beyond greatfull for your support.

We are taking a break from car stuff for a few and will figure out the game plan for the 2022 season in the near future. We will make sure to keep everyone posted.

Recap of the 2nd to last race of the 2021 season. Unloaded without touching the car from the race 2 weeks prior, life happens. 15 car field for the night, great car count. Threw a couple of changes at the car before the first practice and went out and ran our fastest lap times in this car so far, 14.51, P6 in first practice. 14.55 in second practice, P8. Qualified P9 with a 14.54, everyone picked up speed. You could have thrown a blanket over the 5th-10th qualifying cars, a .150 difference separated all of us. Finished 4th in the heat race out of 8 cars and got completely ran over by an inexperienced driver racing after the checked had flown past the start/finish. Ripped the pan hard bar (keeps the rearend centered in the car) out of the rearend eyelet. Scrambled to try and repair in to make the main event. Got it repaired with moments to spare and hoped we had it close to where it needed to be to make the car drivable. Started outside pole in the main. Got a great jump and lead the first lap or two. Battled hard for the next 15+ laps to stay in the top 6-7 spots. Car really came in about half way and started moving back forward, knocking on the door of the 5th place car when a car in front of us spun and threw a caution. With 9 laps to go, 2 of us, were battling for position got stuck running door to door behind 2 lap cars running door to door. After 5 or so laps of this, with a little gentle assistance to let us go by, 3 of us battled for 5th place the remaining 3 laps. Ended up bringing the car home in 7th place. Completely happy with the result after what we went through. None of this would have been possible without Danny Martin of D29Racing. We have a few fixes to make before the season ending race on the 23rd. Always the biggest thank you to our amazing sponsors, we couldn't do it without you!
