Today was one of those days that a coach lives for. In our program nothing is free and must be earned. Most can't wear our colors and many know it's to hard to achieve. Numbers don't mean anything to us, but making a impact and displaying leadership raising your IQ through your Internal Quest Wrestling.

up a tremendous young man today Jonas the "Bear," 4 months ago I was contacted by big Jay about having his son tryout for our program, it's no easy task he struggled a bit, but the grit he showed the non-stop effort, and his ability to care and be coached and not frustrated won our hearts. The group wanted him. He's big, clumsy, new to the sport all factors that change with time and consistency, but the aforementioned attributes I don't see hardly anyone have... he's coach able, cares about others, stands for whats right, cuts no corners, and ask genuine questions. He has managed to place 5th at Cradle for the Cure, 2nd at IDWAY state, worked his way through the RMN Nationals in Vegas. I coached a match in the consolation bracket that had the arena going crazy! Bear in a match where he put every ounce of energy and will to the max IQ wrestler's screaming and cheering on their beloved teammate, IQ parents cheering him on and his parents full of pride watching a young boy turning into a wrestler and being fueled by his Internal Quest.
Like I told him today everything happens for a reason "Bear," thank you for coming into my life you've made me better and we truly care for you.
I loaded the team in the back of my truck and drove "Bear, " to the train station in the middle of tumble weeds and Idaho fields, I had him jump out into the field as his teammates watched. I told him run your way home find your wings and your journey has started but now with more support than you've ever had. I took the kids to run the 1/2 Duck lane run. It ended up being perfect timing as Bear was coming over one hill, the team was on the otherside climbing Bear looked at me I told keep running and look around son... he found his custom Internal Quest Wrestling hockey jersey sublimated with the teams mottos and what he's earned. He stood in the middle of the street with the biggest smile, sweaty, red faced, and put that jersey on, I told him I'm proud of you Bear...I love you, run with your team home. It was amazing watching him sprint so hard to run with them all hugging him and giving him 5's he's earned the respect of some of the toughest kids in the country and the heart to everyone who watches him. when things get tough don't quit and run, that's the time to check your roots and show you belong.π‘β«οΈπͺ½π¦
