It’s been a few weeks since any real kinda of update about this recovery. Honestly that’s because not a lot has changed. Head is still pounding everydayEnergy is still roller coaster - I had a busy couple of weeks, getting to the mat to teach, finding a new vehicle before I ended up on the side of the road calling triple A, trying to get back to a normal working schedule (failed), showing up for a few social engagements (I’ve really missed people) and it’s all kicked my butt pretty darn hard!
The last 5 days or so it’s been playing catch up with house chores, rest!, no alarms and praying that the next procedure will FINALLY give me some relief from the constant throbbing g headaches. And of course I’m just dumping through the hoops on that waiting for it to be scheduled.
I know this recovery is going ti take time, but when it knocks me down so hard after feeling the surge of energy, it becomes extremely real the intensity of what happened.
Last week I used the mantra of PRESENCE in my classes, from Power to gentle Hatha, there are variations of presence that can be practiced. It was my encouragement to students to carry that mantra into the rest of their week or that day. Practice off the mat.
I’ve noticed as I come back to this in this season of life, it helps me stay positive on the recovery and how far I’ve come since my stay in the hospital. That the presence with slowing life down, even if it’s going wildly fast around me, is ok. Presence in every day on how my body feels and how I’m asking it to show up for on this very day. Presence in the throbbing of my head, can I continue or do I need to stop and rest? Presence in this very moment, this day and not worrying about what lies ahead next month or 3 months from now. Presence is what has given me peace in this season and helps me stay positive when I could very easily down spiral from all of this. But that wouldn’t do any good, so I stay present in positivity.
So here’s my recap & encouragement for you, be present. Soak in the life you have at this very moment. If you’re injured nourish it with presence, if your overwhelmed, breathe in presence and it will settle you, find presence exactly here, now
