Digging Deep Mama- Michelle Robinson Message me your questions about fitness, family or faith! Live your best life with inspiration, supp I bet my story is a lot like yours! I was plateaued. I quit. xo

I had my first child and then rode the"its just baby weight" train for a while. I was tired, stressed, and had low energy. My journey started in January 2011. I was just a year post-partum and still had 15lbs baby weight on. It was time to make a change. I knew I need to focus on my nutrition. Exercise had always come fairly easy to me, but nutrition was my challenge. I joined Weight Watchers and

had good success, but it was very slow success. I lost 24lbs, but it took 2+ years. I began to understand food and my relationship with it. Fast forward to summer 2014. In 2012 I had added running to my regimen. Over the course of 2 years, I complete 5 half marathons. I was using my increased activity to offset my increased eating. :) "I run for wine" was my mantra. I needed to refocus and get my nutrition back on track. A friend was thinking about doing the 21 Day Fix and asked me to join her. I had once tried P90X, but I was still 30+lbs over weight and it was tough. When my friend asked me to join her on the 21 Day Fix journey, I was in a much better place and I loved that the focus wasnt just fitness-- it was nutrition based too. Just what I needed. I bought my first Challenge Pack and havent looked back! I lost 6lbs in my first round of 21 Day Fix and it pushed me over my plateau. I loved the workouts, the nutrition component (so easy!) and the Shakeology. My degree is in Physical Education with a focus in Fitness. I've worked as an Acct. Manager for a corporate fitness company for 10 years. Sadly, while I am in the industry, I'm distant from the end user. I'm missing out on educating and coaching people-- and that is what I love to do! Jumping in and signing up as a Coach has given me the opportunity to get back to what I love to do-- helping and educating people. If you've made it this far- thank you! Know that I am passionate about health, wellness and fitness. I am here to help you, encourage you, tackle hurdles with you and support you on YOUR journey!

It’s go time! Back to school is here for us! That means I get to attempt getting a healthy, wholesome breakfast into my kids. This weeks attempt- Cinnamon Oat Chocolate Chip Muffins. 😋

I followed her recipe on the back of the Kodiak Cinnamon Oat Pancakes but instead of streusel topping I threw in chocolate chips. Honestly— they are delicious! Hoping my boys think so too!

It’s been 3 weeks since my butt has been on that bike. Longest time off since I’ve had it- 2.5 years. Injury might have take me down for a couple weeks (mild ankle injury with stitches) but it didn’t take me out!

It was a family reunion with and there were smiles, singing (hello It takes Two by Rob Bass) and tears as she introduced her baby girl! On the eve (can I say that in the morning?) of my baby turning 3– it brought all the feels!

Happy Saturday Friends! I hope it’s a great one for you!!

It’s been a while since I shared my weekly meal plan. I’m not sure about you but we fall into dinner ruts often. I feel like I rotate through the same meals over and over. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I always like to see what others are having to spark creativity in my plan.

I’ll be honest, at the end of the day I don’t have the energy for elaborate recipes and cooking. If I cant pull it together in 30 minutes or less- it’s not for me! No real recipes this week. Actually taking shortcuts where I can!

➡️ Sunday: rotisserie chicken on the Cobb salads
➡️ Monday: Costco stuffed peppers
➡️ Tuesday: Frozen burger patties thrown on the grill (Easy and no cleanup)
➡️ Wednesday: Marinated chicken cooked on the grill (again, easy and little clean up)
➡️ Thursday: Premade crusts! Delicious!!!
➡️ Friday: Marinated tri tip on the grill (you feel me?!)

It’s an easy and delicious week ahead! What’s on your menu???

It’s been a minute. 😂 No idea where the time is going! The fact that we are heading into the last week of April is 🤯! Yet here we are!

Hoping to be more consistent with sharing again! In the mean time... here are some catch-up photos from the past few weeks! 😉

What do you look forward to most when spring arrives?

Amazing Dad alert!!

He was bundled up, ready to go out to work on his workbench, but one look from Charlie... and the words “play trucks?” He promptly removed his hat and jacket and got on the floor! 💓💓💓

I am LOVING this book! If you are someone who struggles with your inner dialog, staying on track, or having the confidence to sustain long term change— pick it up!!! So good!

Something I’ve always struggled with was blowing the whole day if I have a slip up. Or feeling like I need to “eat all the things” to get it out if my system... so I can be super strict tomorrow. 😳Obviously both of those approaches don’t work and can be detrimental to the effort. In this book she talks about taking each moment as it comes— “what is my next great choice?” So even if we overindulge, go overboard, go off our “plan”... we have the ability to be back on track with the very next choice we make! 🙌🏻

Well... it’s been a minute. No sure where January went but we are almost 1/12th of the way through 2021. 😳

It’s been a whirlwind month! I started a new job the first week of January and though I’m not even fully through training yet I’m feeling so good about it. It’s going to be challenging in all the right ways and that is exciting to me!

Any change in life can throw things off kilter, right?! From a wellness standpoint point I’ve been hanging in there! I’m continuing to make fitness a priority and really using the time to work my body, clear my head and strengthen my resilience. All top priority for me.

Something new I’ve been trying to focus on is really understanding how to fuel myself. I’ve been tracking my macros (carbs, fats, proteins) for a while and I’m learning how my body feels and reacts to how I eat. Always a work in progress for me, but it’s interesting to see what the peaks and valleys of this effort look like. Some days it’s effortless and enjoyable and others... well I have the F-It mentality. Interestingly enough, it seems to happen around the same time each month. Hormones playing a factor, maybe?! Connecting the dots is truly interesting.

Just wanted to wake up my page and share that I’m still here and that I’m hoping to be more present here now that we are moving into February!!! Happy Saturday! Enjoy! ☕️

Whew! That’s a wrap on week 1 of the new job! I’m exhausted, excited, overwhelmed and feeling so very grateful!

When they say “all good things come in God’s perfect timing” they aren’t kidding! I’ve literally applied at this company multiple times over several years. They did not have a work-at-home culture for the role I wanted and my application rarely went beyond cyberspace. Silver lining of covid is so many companies were forced to expand the WAH option. Here in lies the perfect timing! I seized the moment and if week 1 is any indication— I’m going to be a very happy girl!

This calls for a celebration... but Whomp! Whomp! 😂 I’ll save the for February!

Happy Weekend!

Cheers to a year gone by! 2020 was a year we will never forget. But through it all we persevered, found our strength, realized what truly mattered, and found happiness in ways we could’ve never imagined. Though it was a very tough year, as I’ve reflected back, i’ve come to believe that though it wasn’t what we had imagined the year would look like it truly was a wonderful one! So much to be thankful for!

Big exciting changes coming as we had into 2021! Starting a new job on Monday will truly kick off my new year with a refound focus, excitement, and sense of determination! I’m excited!!

Sending wishes of peace and calm for you in the new year! Take time today to reflect on your intentions for 2021. Speak life into then, pray over them, and write them down! Much success is to come!!
