September 11, 2001 — We Remember.
Today, we remember the lives forever changed and the many innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.
For those who wear the badge, this day carries a weight that words can hardly express. We especially remember the 343 firefighters and all the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.
They climbed those stairs knowing there was danger ahead. They went anyway.
They were brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends, and fellow firefighters. They answered the call to serve, and on that day, they made the ultimate sacrifice.
Twenty-five years later, their courage, their names, and their sacrifice remain with us.
We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who served.
We stand with the families who continue to carry their loss.
And we will never forget.
