Applications are now being accepted for the position of Lifeguard.

South Umpqua Memorial Pool is looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our lifeguarding staff this summer! Ideal candidates work well on a team, take initiative, and like to have fun. Interested individuals can pick up an application at Myrtle Creek City Hall, located at 207 NW Pleasant Street. Application deadline is May 15, 2026.

Requirements:
*Be at least 15 years of age.
*Must have a current lifeguard certification or obtain one by start date. Classes will be offered at South Umpqua Memorial Pool with a time yet to be determined.
*Be able to pass a lifeguard swim test and demonstrate lifeguarding skills.

Pay and Benefits:
*Pay starts at $14.05 per hour.
*Flexible schedule between 15 and 35 hours a week.
*No work experience required.
*Work outside.
*Opportunities to swim during shift or between shifts.
*Fun work environment.

Session #5 swim lessons sign-ups are open! This will be the last session for 2025. This session will start Monday, August 18th. Each session costs $30 per child. Lessons are Monday-Thursday for two weeks and making a total of eight classes. Sign up either in person or on the phone.

Sign-ups are open now! Junior lifeguard will take place Monday, July 28th to Thursday, July 31st. This program is $30 per child. Sign-ups are on phone or in person.

Notice: Schedule Change for Friday, July 11

Due to the Myrtle Creek lockdown that occurred on Monday, July 7th, we have had to reschedule our swim lessons and staff training. As a result, the 12:30–1:30 PM lap swim session will not be available today, Friday, July 11.
