MC Youth Art League is on a mission to get local kiddos involved in mixing creative expression with community service in the name of public art. To get your kiddo involved, please email [email protected]
Members are aged 8-17. We try to accomplish two things: 1) give kids art instruction so they feel confident expressing themselves in different mediums; 2) get kids involved in creating p
ublic/ community art around town to increase civic pride and engagement. Kids who join Art League need to be prepared to paint. Membership depends on participation. There is no cost-- we are 100% not-for-profit and volunteer run. I want art education to be accessible to every kid. That said, we love snack donations (healthy food please! no single-use drink containers)!! If you would like to donate to MCYAL, please email [email protected]
We do have a dress code: weather appropriate clothing that can get dirty/ covered in non-washable paint. Close-toed shoes only please. My studio is unheated, making a sweatshirt a great idea even in summer. A little about Jennifer Foreman, League advisor: I have a BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and currently teach kindergarten at Tri City Elementary. I've worked as a screenprinter, signpainter, record store clerk and school bus driver before diving into children's education in 2020. My production shop is Angry Tooth, 2145 N Main in Myrtle Creek, OR.
