⛳️ HOLE-IN-ONE…almost! ⛳️
This past Friday at the Conway Medical Center Golf Classic, I came within a foot of my first hole-in-one on the 167-yard 11th hole of the Palmetto Course at Myrtlewood Golf Club. I was absolutely elated and, for a moment, felt like I had won the lottery! No hole-in-one, but I did sink the putt for birdie.
I’ve been attempting to play golf for 36 years now. I’ve had a few lessons from some great teachers over the years, but the truth is I never practice and only play in about 5–6 charity tournaments each year. So realistically, my scores in the 90s probably aren’t going to change and, honestly, I’m perfectly fine with that.
For me, golf has never really been about the score. It’s about having fun and making great memories with friends. I’ve just never had the desire to put in the work to get truly good at the game, so I’ll always be a mediocre golfer…but hopefully a fun one to play with!
