One year ago at the Tony Fisher memorial a great season at Evergreen came to an end when the throttle hung on the 1st lap of practice. The driver still has shoulder issues to this day. Evergreen was one of the first tracks Daren started his modified career at back in the early 2000’s. He has won in the sportsman and legend car divisions at Evergreen but after 25-30 modified starts he finally got the monkey off his back Friday night.

We would also like to thank the family's and teams who donated to the West Hazleton Charity and send condolences to all involved in the two Nescopeck tragedies.

The team would like the thank:
The Fisher Family
Mary's Bar
Marollo Racing Engines
Rich Powell Designs

Lap Sponsors:
Jeff and Vicki Fritz
Dino Oberto
Kevin Makarewicz
Angela Fisher
Jayson Strohl
Kenny & Jenny Macie & Marc Fisher
Kim & Gary Screemock

The next Evergreen race is September 11th the same day as the US Open Race of Champions Tour event at Lancaster. Due to the unforeseen scheduling conflict the team is undecided on which event to attend at this time. The last RoC Tour race Daren missed was 17 years ago in September of 2005 when he competed in the Whelen Modified Tour event at Martinsville.

On Saturday the team made the trip to Lancaster for the Ol Boy Cup VI Race of Champions Tour event. After the redraw Daren started 9th and finished 8th. The team would also like to thank the person who anonymously donated lap money.

The next race is this coming weekend at Chemung August 20th for the Race of Champions Tour.

Not to shabby today. Really long story short, as I don’t elaborate as much as some people feel the need to.

1st practice old tires 2nd on the board to my dear friend Chuck Hossfeld Motorsports Group LLC

2nd practice scrub tires no Times.

Heat lol Hirschman pole, I “Daren Scherer” 2nd and again my dearest friend chuck 3rd.
I alone 2nd lap going into 1 must have overdrove. With cold tires, corrected then a 4 wheel slide, missing the wall but out of redraw. Obviously finished...

Main started with I believe 1 or 2 cars behind me. Probably 15th-16th- or -17.
75 lap race lost my power steering around lap 30.
While complaining to the crew in my words, “it feels like lifting weights at the gym, but you never get to set them down”. Cautions were only worse as scrubbing the ft tires was impossible to help on the restarts.
The overall response from the crew was suck it up nothing we can do. Your 1/2 way. But somehow imagine that being inspirational.

Driving from basically last to 5th with 13 laps left.
A lot of bad wrong line restarts and me being pushed to the limits of my endurance...

Restart around that lap 12-13-14 laps to go...
Entering corner 3 directly after restart, in my eyes was a fast solid entry...
Apparently the car behind me thought elsewise, clobbered my lt rear nearf bar with his rf tire and ended my push for the win.
Normally respectful drivers give you a chance to collect yourself with the possibly of continuing on...

Made a pit at that yellow, small adjustment finished 14th.

Great job by the track, many improvements over previous years.

Pretty decent night at Lancaster last night considering how the day started. Ended up having a broken strut rod mount which meant no practice in either of the two rounds. Went out and time trialed 6th overall and eventually made the redraw in the heat. Redrew 10th and worked our way up to 4th in the feature before losing a spot at the end when the car went loose.

Gotta thank the Catalanos for the use of their welder and the street stock guys parked next to us for the use of their generator!

Next race will be at Jukasa speedway in Ontario Canada on July 14th!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

The RoC 250 Weekend is completed! We finished a solid 5th place after getting the tow knocked in during the first half of the race. The 2016 Race of Champions season has come to an end with a 4th place finish in the championship points. The first half of the season started off rough due to 2 incidents while running in the top 3 at Oswego and Spencer Speedway. We made significant improvements throughout the summer and finished the past month with great runs at Evergreen and Mahoning Valley Speedway. We would like to thank the fans that came out to Oswego for their support. Also a big shout out to Chris Pasteryak and his team who pitted next to us for supporting the RoC and making the trip from western Connecticut twice. It is easy to sit home and complain on social media but sometimes perfection is expected too often. The weather in Oswego was forecasted to be worse this weekend over the original September date. The RoC made a decision to go for it and stuck with it to try keeping the RoC yearly tradition intact. We believe everyone including teams and officials were surprised at the condition of the track after Super Dirt Week. Track crews, fans and race teams all came together to help get the track ready. With all the mud and clay residue still present the track wasn’t as racey among the front runners as hoped but it didn’t prove much different than a typical Oswego race. Any fans saying the track was unsafe to race on probably wasn’t there and probably wasn’t at qualifying day during the 2015 North South Shoot out either. That day last November was a sight to see.

Our next and final race of the season will be at Myrtle Beach Speedway as a part of the Myrtle Beach 400 (November 17-19). This race has been getting bigger every year and we are looking forward to it!
