HUGE SHOUTOUT to my girl Ruth for losing 10.2lbs and 2.5% bodyfat and she gained 2lbs. of muscle during her first 6 week nutrition plan with Avocado Athletics. To say I am proud of her is the understatement of the year. Ruth Parada was dedicated and determined from the start, she knew what she wanted and was not going to stop till she got it. Increased energy, her sleep has improved and she enjoys the food she is eating just to name a few. She is also noticing how lose those clothes are feeling πŸ™‚. Here is to another 6 weeks and I could not be more excited to see how much further you get. LETS GO!!!!!!!

Working with Avocado Athletics has been amazing because she's taught me so much about how nutrition plays a big role if you want to lose weight and still enjoy the food you love. I have always wanted to learn how to keep it off and also teach my daughter healthy habits that will stick with her. Tracey pushed me to a better me and stays on me about reaching my goals. Even on days that I want to give up, she's always motivating me. She's a great coach, friend, and human. She's inspires me to keep going and get better. I feel good, and I see the difference in my body and I love that.

Huge shout-out to my girl Ruth Parada for crushing the first few weeks of her nutrition program. Down 7lbs and 1.2% in body fat!!! She has taken on this challenge like a boss and all while eating at 1700 calories. That's right she is properly feeding her body so she can power through her workouts but also give her body the fuel to recover and gain muscle πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ. She is also setting the best example for her daughter that it's ok to eat good food and you don't have to starve yourself to get the results you want!! To say I'm incredibly proud of her and beyond excited to see what she accomplishes in the next few weeks is a HUGE understatement. Let's go!!!!

Let's talk about what your BMR is. BMR means you Basil Metabolic Rate= meaning the daily caloric intake you need for your body to just function daily while at rest. (meaning it does not include activity/working out) Now you can eat below your BMR and lose weight, but over time you will lose fat and muscle. Prolonged periods of eating under your BMR will cause your body to go into a state of "famine" and can affect your metabolism. Eating under your BMR is not sustainable. If your goal is to build lean muscle mass and lose weight then you should be consuming 15% more than your current BMR. So in a nutshell, make sure you are eating enough food to nourish your body before and after your workouts and eat your PROTEIN!!!!

LONG POST ALERT: 75 HARD CONCLUSION
I did this all while eating in my maintenance calories of 1950-2000/calories per day and carb cycling :)

First and FOREMOST thank you to each one of you who reached out and cheered me on through this entire process!! To those of you who already crushed this challenge, thank you for setting the best example for all of us. :)

Talk about getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, best experience and most difficult one as well but, I honestly would do it all over again!!! If you are even thinking about it, stop thinking and just do it. You will not regret it!

I survived 4 birthday celebrations, one vacation to Florida and all while I was working full-time (40+ hours a week), running my own personal training company and coaching at the gym. They do not call it 75 Hard for nothing, but if you want it bad enough, you will find the time to prioritize all the tasks and the crazy obstacles life throws at you to get it done.

I am by no means bragging, I just want to be as honest about this process as I possibly can for anyone who is thinking they can not do this challenge. You have to schedule, you have to organize your life every single day of this challenge! Was it hard, 100%!!! Were there days when I thought I would not make it through that second outdoor workout, 100%!!! Did I almost give up a few times, as the exhaustion set in and my schedule just got more insane, 100%, but I didn’t. I choose to push past all of the crap I had let myself use as an excuse for years of not getting done what I WANTED to become the best part of ME!!!

Things I accomplished during my 75 hard journey:
Started therapy again and joined a support group to deal with trauma from 15+ years ago
My relationship has never been stronger :)
Finished my nutrition certification course
Grew my personal training business by 7 new clients (Can not wait to announce the new collaboration I have been working on!!!)
I read 4 books
150+ workouts completed
Dropped down a pants size
Lost 6lbs
Lost 2.5% body fat
Gained and maintained that muscle
Signed up for my first Deka Strong- t-minus 9 days
Signed up for my first Spartan Race in April-t-minus 5 weeks out

I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life. Y’all age is just a number. If you want something bad enough, you can accomplish it! The mental benefits alone are amazing and I am truly grateful for this experience. The physical part was just a bonus. I cannot wait to see what my body is capable of doing.
So what’s next???
There are 3 more phases to complete and this is just the beginning.
To those of you still working on completing this challenge, KEEP IT GOING! You are almost there and I cannot wait to celebrate with you once you kick some butt!
