I want to thank you all for trusting (believing) in me and the gym for your jiujitsu training over the past decade. I never took that lightly and appreciate each and every one of you.

Teaching is not easy, especially if you care about the development of the students. Running a gym is even harder. The stress can take it's toll for sure... That said, the reward of seeing the growth of the individual made it ALL worth it and I wouldn't change any of it. I am happy I was able to introduce Muskogee and the surrounding area to a Martial Art we have come to cherish. Mega-Church JiuJitsu will always be the OG in my hometown.

I do apologize for letting my responsibilities fall behind with my teaching in the last days. My goal was to create a place where we would have multiple people to learn from. Not learn from just me, as I know from experience having a variety of sources is by far the best logical choice. Unfortunately, I failed at this. I should have vetted this decision better. It takes more than just a colored belt to lead.

All in all, the last 12 years of running OUR gym has gifted me some memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I made some good, real, friends along the way as well. It all went by so fast... I guess I was just having too much fun.

I plan on becoming a student again and return to Triton Fight Center in B.A. with Melissa. I will also be dropping in at Revival Jiujitsu for some good training. I hope you all continue your journey and keep me updated.

This isn't the END, it's a NEW beginning.

Some tough rounds this evening. 👊

One thing about this whole training (Jiujitsu/Martial Arts) is it separates real from fake. Whether we are talking about technique or character, JiuJitsu will expose any kinks in either of the mentioned. After 20 years on the mat this is probably one of my most important lessons I’ve learned. Not armbars or chokes, but finding truth within ourselves and our techniques.

This is a really hard post to make.

Unfortunately, we have made the decision to close the gym. This was not an easy decision by any means. I have put over 10 years into my gym and have sacrificed so much, most will never understand. Through all the ups and downs it has always been a place of sanctuary. Lately this hasn't been the case. As of this moment I need to step away.

All auto-withdrawals will be canceled.

I highly recommend looking into Revival Jiu Jitsu to continue your training. Steven has been a loyal training partner and friend for over a decade and I have no doubt he can take your technique to another level. You cant ask for a more dedicated Jiu Jitsu friend/coach/practitioner.

There are other schools as well so if you need any recommendations just let me know. I plan on being on the mat Tuesday and Thursday this week as well as next week.

As Jiu Jitsu practioners, the ground is our ocean and we are the sharks. As with any self defense the ultimate goal is to survive. Why not give yourself the best opportunity, while getting in great shape at the same time.
