🌊🍒 ROAD TRIP MODE: ACTIVATED 🍒🌊

This weekend, our ladies and their families are trading the everyday grind for a little northern Michigan adventure as we head to beautiful Traverse City for the Northern Classic! ☀️

Known as the Cherry Capital of the World, Traverse City is filled with sparkling blue water, fresh summer air, and some of the most beautiful scenery Michigan has to offer. But don't worry... we're not just coming for the cherries. 😎🥎

The girls will be chasing fly balls instead of sunsets on Saturday:

🥎 1:20 PM vs. GR Diamonds 13U Bruwer
🥎 4:00 PM vs. Flames 13U Graver
🥎 5:20 PM vs. Lakeshore Pirates

Then it's on to bracket play Sunday! 💪

For a few days, it's softball by the bay, team laughs, hotel memories, snack runs, and the kind of moments these girls will remember long after the final out is recorded. That's one of the best parts of travel ball. The games matter, but so do the memories made between them. 🖤

Two hundred.

It’s just a number until you realize what it represents.

Two hundred strikeouts means hundreds of hours spent in the backyard. Hundreds of pitches thrown when nobody was watching. Early mornings. Late nights. Sore arms. Blisters. Bullpens. Lessons. Practices. Games. The determination to keep showing up and getting better every single day.

During our game against Lake Effect Olinger this afternoon, Mira Norkus reached an incredible milestone: 200 strikeouts this season alone.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Two hundred times a hitter stepped into the box with hopes of putting the ball in play, and two hundred times Mira found a way to win the battle.

Mira is the definition of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. She doesn’t chase attention. She chases improvement. She leads by example and continually puts in the work long before the spotlight ever finds her.

The strikeouts are the result. The countless hours, sacrifices, and commitment are the story.

We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, Mira, and even more proud of the teammate, competitor, and young woman you’ve become.

Congratulations on 200 strikeouts, #8! What an incredible achievement, and we’re pretty sure you’re just getting started. 💙🥎🔥

🌊☀️ LAKESIDE BLAST? More like SABERCAT STORM WARNING. ☀️🌊

The squad rolled into Grand Haven and left a trail of wins in their wake, finishing the day a perfect 3-0 and claiming the #1 seed in our pool heading into Championship Sunday! 🥇🔥

Game 1 started with some Hollywood-level drama.

The Landsharks jumped out early, but our girls never blinked. Avis got things started with a clutch RBI single. Cam Crow and Paige delivered key hits to keep the pressure on, and with the game tied in the bottom of the fourth, Mira stepped to the plate and delivered the walk-off RBI to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory! 💥

Mira was electric in the circle, striking out six and battling every inning. That’s how you start a tournament!

Game 2? The bats absolutely exploded. 💣

We hung FIVE runs in the first inning against South Farmington Bombers Pink and never looked back in a 9-1 win.

Avis started the party with an RBI double.
Abby followed with an RBI double.
Mira crushed a two-run double.
Vanessa drove in another run.
Taylor stepped up with a two-run double of her own.
Cam added another RBI hit.
Evelyn collected two hits and kept the offense rolling all game.

Avis dominated in the circle, earning the win while Mira came in to finish things off.

Then came Game 3.

The Diamond Disciples battled back and tied things after we built an early lead, but these ladies WERE NOT about to let momentum slip away.

Abby delivered another big day at the plate with multiple hits and RBIs.
Evelyn came through with key offensive contributions.
Kaylynn worked a huge RBI walk.
Paige collected multiple hits and started in the circle.
Avis turned into an absolute hitting machine, going 3-for-3 with a double and FOUR stolen bases. 🚨
And when the game needed her most, Mira once again answered the call, driving in three runs while earning the win in relief.

By day’s end:

⚔️ 24 Runs Scored
⚔️ Countless Clutch Moments

This wasn’t about one player. It was about every girl contributing.

The Michigan Sabercats 13U Foster squad is ready to make some waves this weekend at the 19th Annual USSSA Lakeside Blast in beautiful Grand Haven!

There’s nothing quite like softball on the shoreline. Lake Michigan breeze, summer sunshine, and a full day of competition just minutes from home. ☀️⚓

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, grab your beach chair, pack your favorite lakeside snacks, and come cheer on the Sabercats as we hit the diamond right along Michigan's beautiful coastline!

So proud of every single one of our girls and the sports season they put together this year. 🖤💙

A huge accomplishment as well with SIX of our girls earning spots in the Junior Elite tournament bracket this week. This group continues to raise the bar!

And a special congratulations to Abby and Mira on bringing home the hardware as 2026 WMASA 8th Grade Junior Elite Champions! 🏆 You both represented the RP Rockets with toughness, composure, and determination all season long.

Today, we pause the games, the standings, and the busy schedules to remember what Memorial Day is truly about. 🇺🇸

We honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country and the freedoms we enjoy every single day. Their sacrifice is bigger than words and will never be forgotten.

Well… Mother Nature had other plans for today. 🌧️🥎

The NSA Salute to Service tournament has officially been canceled due to rain and unplayable field conditions. Trust us… we wanted to play too. 😅

Instead of sliding into bases today, we’ll be sliding into blankets, snacks, and dry clothes.

We’ll be ready to get back after it next time. 💙🖤💪

This Saturday, our girls hit the field for more than just softball. The NSA Salute to Service Tournament is a chance to compete hard while honoring and remembering the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. ❤️🤍💙

We’re grateful for the opportunity to play a game we love while recognizing those who protect the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. Thank you to all active military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Your courage and sacrifice will never go unnoticed. 🇺🇸
