We are still here! Although we are unable to utilize the gym, we have been keeping up on our physical and mental fitness.

We equipped our members with all
The goodies to make their own home gyms. We’ve adapted and overcome the closure so far, opening virtual classes and daily programming. We are firm believers that taking care of the body is a positive catalyst that will keep us healthy and SANe during these uncharted times.

We have been cleaning (santitizing, painting, tearing out carpet) and placing new measures for the comeback. We are so grateful for the membership and daily workouts. We miss your faces in person and are hopeful we can see each other soon.

Stay strong, stay healthy and keep the Faith. We are Americans and can get through anything as long as we stick together. 🇺🇸

Quarantine Chronicles- road to recovery

1 month post pardom.
Man, this is NOT what I anticipated. The world really stepped on that big ol banana peel..
It’s amazing how fast things change. Instead of getting on Facebook and arguing with complete strangers about infectious diseases.. I’ve decided to focus on the blessings and things within my control.

This goes to show that body weight means Nothing. I am the same weight here (159) as I am when I got pregnant and was jacked. Throw those scales away and focus on body composition.

My diet is clean. No dairy/ gluten/soy or processed junk. I’m not measuring food, but I am using the palm method. Right now, Im not restricting calories because I’m feeding a little gremlin.

I know these times are weird, hard and uncharted waters.. this storm is so new to all of us. If you find yourselves in a dark spot, please reach out.

This is my outlet, training, pushing weights, limits and setting new milestones for myself. It keeps my mind busy, my body fit and off the dooms day internet watching every news outlet report about death..

Take this time to move, walk, enjoy, explore, sit in silence, renew your spirit.
All those things you never had time for- here it is. There’s nothing more rewarding than a sense of a accomplishment.

Stay in the game, we’ve got this. 🖤

In compliance with Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-09 (COVID 19) the Dragon’s Den will be closed until Notified we are in the clear to reopen.

We take this closure very seriously and will do what we can in our power to ensure our clients and fellow community members Stay healthy throughout this very unknown period.

As a small business owner, this certainly impacts our lives- and impacts our clients who rely on our gym to stay active and healthy.

We have implemented a virtual platform for our members during this time, and will continue to support their needs as long as we are shut down.

Many thanks to those that have reached out and continually support our business. We love this community and are committed to doing our part to get everyone back to normalcy.

We will weather this storm together.

JUST. MOVE

At this point I am just sitting in survival mode.. eat, rest, sleep
Train..
At this point in pregnancy and life in general, it would be easy to lose my mind.. give into panic and fear— while throwing elbows at Costco buying all the p**p paper.

Im sure anyone reading this has been affected in some way by the “infamous Pandemic”..

At 9 months pregnant, mom of 4 others (all of which schools are shut down- including my oldest sons college GVSU) being a LeO 👮🏽‍♀️ husband a LeO 👮🏼 it would be easy to slide into pure panic mode.. but we aren’t.

Trying to stay in a good mental space.. for me that means training.

In all noise and chaos, try to stay grounded in something that brings you joy, positive endorphins and peace.

In a world of Panic right now, WE need it. All of our lives have been shut down in some way.. and change is Hard for most. Stay calm, follow guidelines and have faith.

we haven’t shut our gym down, but making the necessary steps to keep our team safe and healthy.

Wether you think you do or not.. you have alot of power throughout these uncharted waters.
Couple things.
1. Eat as clean as possible
2. Keep moving .. there are a ton of things you can do at home to stay active
3. Think positive
4. remain calm and lift something
5 lastly... do burpees- Enough of them are literally worse than anything🤗 but make you feel better after.

Stay well friends, be good to one another and just keep swimming. These times won’t last forever 💪🏼

9 months pregnant 2016 Vs 9 months pregnant 2020.

I’ve been Olympic lifting the entire pregnancy, scaling the weights (obviously)

Over the past 3 years I became much stronger after my pregnancy. 2016, this was a 145lb Clean & Jerk- EMOM for 12 minutes.
Kinda shaky and just right at the time. 12 hours after I did this workout I went into labor 🤔

I did the same workout today with 165lbs - just right for my strength and comfort level. I’m not sure I look any different (big belly & butt) but I was lifting better, even after having to adjust my second pull.

My “normal” Heavy clean and jerk is 220lbs.. so.. 165 is far from that. I’m not straining, struggling or lifting too much .. for Me.

Let’s see if this starts labor 😂😂😂 My prediction is- NO. Because this little girl already has her OWN agenda- the sassiest of the Miller girls yet.

I’m there.

If I were to go into labor now- my Docs would let me deliver.

I equate this workout to labor... 16 minutes of ...it’s going to be just fine, to heightened pain- maybe some panic .. back down to ok, this isn’t so bad... until
THE NEXT MINUTE🤪

I’m in survival mode. 5th baby and nothing is done . No crib out, no fancy hospital bag, no cute robes- I have a couple sleepers from Mila’s doll that have markers and slime on them.
Builds character 🤓

This workout nearly killed me. I did “Ocho” vault workout yesterday.. so today when I did thrusters, hitting a full squat was a lot of pressure— so I went to a point I was comfortable.
Try this out

16 min EMOM
4 power sn**ch 65lbs
4 burpees
4 thrusters 65lbs

It’s fun. I promise 😳😋🤪

Here’s to the last month. I cannot what to drink 2 oz of Pinot Noir! 🍷
