I always knew that this day would come, but not this fast. Due to health issues, I am retiring after 16 years doing my dream job. It's been a blast fishing with you. I've made many friends and many good memories over the years, but it's time. To all my clients, friends, family and sponsors, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm hoping I can spend some time on the water, so stop and say hi! Until then, "fair winds, and following seas"

Mississippi River fishing report, 2.21.2024. Pool 9, Desoto, Wisconsin Area. Spent the day with a couple good friends checking some spring areas. What a beautiful day it was, and very productive! Ted had the hot hand, boating 2 big females, 15 minutes apart! Both were released to fight another day. We kept a few nice saugers. Still ice in non current areas. Some good sized chunks floating, so be careful boating. The river level is around the 8 foot level at Lansing. Thanks for reading my reports and have a good week!

Happy New Year! And many thanks to everyone who fished with me in 2023. Also thanks to my family, friends and sponsors for their continued support. Looking forward to spring to continue my journey! Pictures attached are from the last few weeks, thanks to the mild weather we experienced. Have a good winter and catch a bunch through the ice!

Fall is my favorite time to fish, just wish it would last longer! Fishing has been good here on pool 9 on the Mississippi River. The water temperature is in the mid 50s. The panfish bite is still going good, with some huge crappies starting to bite. Walleyes and saugers are moving towards wintering areas and feeding up for winter. Bass fishing has been excellent, the big smallies are hungry! My schedule is full for the next couple of weeks before I close the book on another great season! I'll try to post frequently on my fall and winter excursions! Have a good week, and good fishing!

Mid September Mississippi River fishing report, pool 9, Desoto, Wisconsin Area. Wow! Talk about a quick transition to fall! Nearly 100 degrees earlier in the week to 40s yesterday morning when we launched the boat. Foggy also, took a couple of hours to lift. Water temperature dropped Nearly 10 degrees to 71. The river is still very low, 7.8 at Lansing. The bluegill fishing is still very good. The guys caught a bunch yesterday, kept a nice mess for a fish fry, released many more. This young man wanted to cast. He boated this nice northern and several largemouth bass.

Mississippi River Pool 9 fishing report, August 25, 2023. Braved the heat yesterday morning! Only one other rig in the parking lot. Got off the water around 1130 with a nice bunch of bluegills. The river level is still very low, not much current. The water temperature has reached 80 degrees again. Cooler temperatures in the forecast so that should change. Fall fishing just around the corner, my favorite! Thanks for reading my reports and have a good weekend!

Morning trip today on pool 9, Mississippi River. Got out early and off before the heat! Good smallmouth day ! Both ladies got a good one! Crankbaits, Case plastics mad tom on a jig, and a River rig slow death hook with crawler did the job.

Mississippi River Fishing Report, Pool 9, Ferryville, Wisconsin Area. 7.20.23. The river level remains very low, around 8 ft. At Lansing. The water temp is in the mid 70s. Very little current. Scouting trip today. Found a few nice smallmouth bass! Recent trips have mixed results. Catching some nice catfish, perch and a few walleyes and northerns. Hot weather coming again next week. Mississippi River Fishing Report, Pool 9, Desoto, Wisconsin Area. 6.21.23 River levels remain low, 7.9 at Lansing. The water temp was 78 degrees yesterday, and will likely raise with the forecast for 90 degree days. Monday we went after panfish. Very slow bite, but we did manage a few nice perch. Yesterday was the same so we switched gears and went after catfish. They cooperated pretty well. Earlier in the week we had several good days walleye fishing. Mid June Mississippi river fishing report for pool 9. This mornings walleye trip went well, with the guys boating some nice keepers, both trolling crankbaits and drifting jigs. Case plastics mad toms tipped with a half crawler. Beautiful day out there. Early last week we had similar results, the cold front last weekend slowed things down for a couple days, but things have improved. Catfish are biting also. The river is very low, be extra careful venturing very far off the channel. Water temp in the low 70s. Clarity good. Thanks for reading my reports and have a good weekend @

Mississippi River Pool 9 fishing report, Ferryville, Wisconsin for June 5, 2023. Walleye trip this morning with Ron and his brother, Randy. Tough bite, but the guys boated some nice walleyes, a couple smallmouth and two magnum sheepshead! Pretty good mayfly hatch, along with rapidly falling water didn't help. Beautiful day though! River level at Lansing 8.6 still dropping. Clarity is not good, atleast on the main River. Thanks for reading my reports and have a good week!
