We are excited to announce the launch of a new class called "Hura Gracious Ladies," designed specifically for seniors in our community. This class will create a welcoming space for seniors to work out and learn choreography in the morning.

🤙Aloha & 'Ia Ora Na🌸,
In this special post, we want to congratulate all our dancers who took part in the 2026 'Ori Tahiti Las Vegas Competition. The solo 'Ori competition is not part of our traditional values, but it has become popular in California and is now part of modern 'Ori. While solo 'Ori competition is different from our traditional culture, it is included in our Heiva competition, where 'Ori Masters or fellow dancers choose solo performers. 🤙🌸

10 dancers participated in the solo 'Ori Tahiti Competition in Las Vegas last weekend. They are special because of their loyalty, hard work, and dedication to our Hālau which demonstrate a strong sense of Ohana. These are values our Hālau teaches through our po'o and instructor team. 🤙🌸

We love hearing that our dancers had fun at the 'Ori Tahiti Competition, no matter the results. This shows they really understand what the competition is all about, and they are becoming pros! 🤙🌸

At the Taste of Tahiti 2024, Uncle Roger and his daughter, Moeana, organized a surprise dance for Aunty Tara. Guillaume from Bel Canto Tahiti performed a song to express their appreciation for Aunty Tara and all the support and love she has given. Aunty Tara captured the moment on video while trying to hold back her tears.

We would like to wish all our participants in the 'Ori Tahiti Las Vegas competition the best of luck! Go and embrace this 'Ori adventure, and remember that by attending, you are already a winner. Most importantly, have lots of fun!

A big Mauru'uru to our Ra'atira team, Moenana, and her lifelong assistant, Joie Lou, as well as the instructor team, Mari and Joselle, and finally to our 2 junior instructors, Maribelle and Peyton, who will be competing as well with all the other 10 contestants, for their support in this journey.

We also want to express our gratitude to all the parents and supporters traveling to cheer on the participants this weekend.

As part of our commitment to being an authentic Pupu 'Ori and Hālau, we exclusively use traditional moré (moré is a traditional skirt made of hibiscus or purau tree) for our Hura performances. We source our moré directly from Tahiti, specifically from the Raromatai and Rurutu islands in French Polynesia..
