2 Days of Adventure!
Now that we've warmed up with Vietnam and Cambodia, we're ready to start our China trip.
**June 26: Ho Chi Minh City - Xiamen -Putian, China **
Up before the sun, our group took a morning flight to Xiamen. Upon arrival, our city tour guide met us at the airport, and we began our city tour with a visit to Gulangyu Island and Huli Mountain Fort. After the tour, we transferred to Putian City, enjoyed dinner, and checked into our hotel. We practiced kungfu in the lobby to prepare for our demo and test the next day.
**June 27: Southern Shaolin Temple, Putian **
We received an amazing reception at the gates of the Southern Shaolin Temple, complete with vibrant lion dancing and a group performance. We attended the intense and awe-inspiring Incense Burning Ceremony. Senior Elder Master Sharon and David Soard signed the Formal Affiliation Certificate for our Shaolin organization. This was followed by a spectacular South Shaolin Temple Kung fu performance, where we, along with multiple delegates, showcased our traditional martial arts, folk dancing, and singing.
We visited our Chinese Shao-Lin Center tablet, constructed in 2000 to honor our school organization, which has now been moved to its own courtyard. We enjoyed a vegetarian lunch provided by the Shaolin Temple, eating with the monks. After lunch, we had our formal kungfu test. We then visited Xinghua Ancient Street, Putian Museum, Houhuang Ancient Houses, and Guanghua Temple.
China is already full of amazing experiences! 🇨🇳✨
