I haven't posted on my page here in awhile. Well 2013-2014 duck season is in the books. While a lot of people struggled we stayed on the ducks up until everything was froze solid. We had cold weather,warm weather,ice,snow,wind no wind. We didnt get skunked the first time until the second week of December. We had one of the best duck seasons in a few years. Hunted with some old friends,some new friends and got a few guys hooked on waterfowl hunting. I hunted in 3 Illinois zones and had 5 great days in Arkansas.

Snow goose season is just days away and the white decoys are out and ready to go.

Im also looking forward to turkey season and maybe get going on a few more of my turkey calls.

from John Buhnerkempe, Chief of Illinois Division of Wildlife. Stating due to public input that the Big Muddy side of Rend Lake sub impoundments will REMAIN first come first serve freelance hunting for the 2013-2014 waterfowl season.... But will closely monitored for anything from arguments, to entering the area early, or "unsafe boating"... And if significant improvements are not made this year it WILL be staked and a daily draw will be there in 2014-2015...

Please everyone. police yourselves and keep this area draw stake free !
