WELCOME to The Murphy Middle & High School Shooting Teams page. This page is set up, not only for the ease of communication and information passing to the Team members, families and followers, but also to show that responsible programs exist for responsible students that include students and fi****ms. To qualify for the team, one must pass the NORTH CAROLINA HUNTER EDUCATION SKILLS class and be i
nstructed if the responsible and safe use of Rifles, Shotguns and Bows. Other skills acquired are Orienteering written and practical testing. From there, personal scores are accumulated through instruction by the all volunteer coaching staff and those with the highest scores will fill the spots for competition that has lead these teams to the State competition for the last 5 years. This team is run solely on donations and grants. The local business, residents, NRA and other entities and companies, through grants, fundraisers and discounts through matching cash amounts from fundraisers is why this team is able to function from year to year. The team receives NO funds from the State, County and school district. What we do get is the support of the students and faculty. Remember, Without donations and grants, we would not exist, and we thank you. If you are new to the page, or are curious on what we do, pleas like us and leave us a message. We will respond, and if you feel this program is important to the younger generation and passing on these skills are important, we would like to hear from you. So, feel free to look at our pictures and videos. Programs like this are rare in the United States, but there are more than you would think. It is special and an honor to pass these skills to the younger generation of Americans.
