A New Chapter for Goalkeeper Development at Texas Warriors FC
Texas Warriors FC is pleased to welcome Paul Hason as the club’s new Director of Goalkeeping, marking another important step in the continued development of our player pathway.
With more than 30 years of coaching and player-development experience across collegiate, professional, and international soccer, Coach Hason brings a depth of knowledge that extends well beyond traditional goalkeeper training. Throughout his career, he has worked with goalkeepers who have progressed into top collegiate programs, U.S. Youth National Team environments, and the professional game.
His arrival also signals an evolution in how Texas Warriors FC approaches the position.
The modern goalkeeper is no longer simply the player responsible for protecting the goal. Goalkeepers must read the game, manage space, communicate and organize, make decisions under pressure, contribute in possession, and help initiate the attack. Their development must therefore be connected to the way the entire team learns to play.
Under Coach Hason’s leadership, Texas Warriors FC will continue building a structured goalkeeper pathway designed to develop those qualities progressively across the club’s age groups.
Just as importantly, this specialized goalkeeper development will be included within Texas Warriors FC player dues, with no additional goalkeeper training fee for our players.
For us, that distinction matters.
Specialized goalkeeper development should not sit outside the player-development experience. It should be part of it.
Coach Hason’s appointment represents another investment in creating a more complete development environment for Texas Warriors FC players and another step toward the standard we believe our academy can become.
