SUBJECT: NRA Level 1 Rifle Coach Certification Course – November 14–15

Hello Coaches and Volunteers,

Humboldt is planning to host an NRA Level 1 Rifle Coach Certification Course for anyone interested in becoming a certified coach or expanding their knowledge and coaching skills.

Many of you already hold a 4-H coaching certification. The NRA Level 1 certification is recognized and valued by the CMP, USAS , and NRA and is an important credential for coaches involved in those programs and competitions.

Course Topics Include:

• Safety and Risk Management

• Rulebook Use and Match Etiquette

• Coaching Ethics

• Rifle Fundamentals

• Coaching Methodology

• Mental Training

• Training Planning

• Building Successful Programs

The course is endorsed by both CMP and USAS. Registration includes the NRA coaching study guide, instructional materials, classroom instruction, and Level 1 NRA Rifle Coach credentialing for participants who successfully complete the course.

Course Schedule

Saturday, November 14
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Lunch provided by HSS

Sunday, November 15
8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Lunch provided by HSS

Instructor

The course will be taught by Bob Foth. Bob has conducted several coaching clinics in South Dakota over the past several years and always brings practical ideas and valuable insight that help coaches continue to improve.

Please note: This is a coach certification course. There will be no live-fire training during the class.

Registration

Enrollment is limited so registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost

• $170 per person for clubs with an active MidwayUSA Foundation account

• $320 per person for clubs without an active MidwayUSA Foundation account

MidwayUSA Foundation helps offset the cost for coaches affiliated with clubs that have an active account.
