• FINAL: Munford Middle School Football beats Haywood, 30-6, and moves to 3-0 (Thank you to MMS for the score!)
• FINAL: Tipton Christian Academy, Harding tie at 0 (Thank you to TCA for the score!)
• Tipton-Rosemark Academy traveled to St. George's - Share your score!

The guys definitely felt the love after practice tonight! They may be Built In The Middle, but it takes a village to feed them after a practice! 😂

A HUGE thank you to the Sanford family, the Scheidt family, our anonymous donors, and Mr. Michael Sanford of the Flying Saucer in Memphis for their generous donations that made our Labor Day after-practice cookout possible!

Nights like tonight are about more than just feeding a bunch of hungry football players. It’s a chance for them to sit down together after putting in the work, laugh, eat, and just enjoy being teammates.

We’re so thankful for the families and community members who continue to pour into our guys and help us create these memories along the way. It takes a village to feed a football team—and apparently it takes an even bigger one when they discover thirds. 😂🏈

Thank you for once again showing up for our Cougars and making tonight possible! 🐾💪

Our Coaches Choice Award this week went to two rock stars, both on and off the field. 🏈🐾 Next up is #5, starting linebacker Ryan Waldon.

Ryan is a three-year veteran of our program, and calling him the glue of our defense still doesn’t quite capture what he means to this team.

Ryan missed his entire 7th-grade season after a serious accident where he almost lost his leg. He faced a long road to recovery and the reality of his 7th-grade season being over before it began. But here’s what tells you everything you need to know about Ryan: he NEVER left. 👊

He came to practice every day knowing he wouldn’t get to step onto that field that season. Instead of “see you maybe next season,” he studied. He watched. He learned. From the sidelines, he worked to perfect his position and stayed completely invested in his teammates and this program.

And the minute he was cleared? He went to work.

Conditioning. Weight room. Practice. Ryan hasn’t missed. He knew he had one more middle school season, and he was determined to make it count.

And he has.

Ryan has stepped into his 8th-grade season and owned it. He’s dependable, determined, tough, and an anchor for our defense.

We’ve had the privilege of watching Ryan grow over the last three years—not just as a football player, but as a young man. And the reason we got to witness every bit of that growth is simple:

Ryan made it a point to be here, no matter what.

There’s something special about a kid who keeps showing up even when the game is temporarily taken away from him.

Ryan earned his way back onto that field, and watching #5 play the game he refused to walk away from makes this season just a little more special.

Congratulations, Ryan. Coaches Choice Award — earned in every sense of the word. 🐾🏈

#5 Ryan Waldon | Built In The Middle

This week’s Coaches Choice Award goes to two rock stars on and off the field! First up… #28 Ryder Milligan 🐾🏈

Ryder is a three-year veteran of our program and is in his second year starting at Safety and Running Back. He’s the kind of player every team needs—dependable, hardworking, and all-in. He never misses a practice and shows up day after day ready to give everything he has.

His work ethic carries over into the classroom, too. Ryder is a straight-A student who takes just as much pride in his academics as he does his performance on the field. 📚💪

And then there’s just… Ryder. 😂

He is our comic relief, our brutally honest commentary, and quite honestly, a whole vibe. You never have to wonder what Ryder is thinking because, trust us, he’s going to tell you! He’s his own toughest critic, but at the very same time, one of the biggest fans of every teammate around him.

Underneath all that personality is a kid with an incredible amount of heart. He shows up. He works. He competes. He supports his teammates. And he gives this team everything he has, day in and day out.

After three years with us, it’s hard to imagine The Middle without #28. Players like Ryder leave their mark on a program in ways that have nothing to do with a stat sheet.

Congratulations, Ryder. Keep being exactly who you are—because there truly is only one #28. 🐾🏈
