Lake County, Illinois' Premier Travel Baseball Organization since 2003. The Lake County Lightning organization started in 2001 as the Mundelein Red Devils. The program quickly grew in popularity as it was recognized early on to be one of the best in Lake County. Players from all over the area started playing in the program and in 2003 the name of Lake County Lightning was established to better rep
resent the fact that players were from communities throughout the county. Lightning teams play in a variety of leagues as well as local, regional and national tournaments. The program was primarily a 13 and 14 year old level program representing about 22 or so players until 2009 when a 12U team was added. Since 2009 the program has grown significantly! In 2012 our tryouts fielded over 220 player athletes trying out for teams from the age of 10 thru 14. In 2013 we fielded 10 total teams from ages 10 thru 14. In 2014 we had over 260 player athletes tryout for our program and added a 9 year old level team for a total of 12 teams. In the 2015 season we added a 15 year old (High School Freshman) level tournament team and will field 14 total teams for the 2015 season from ages 9 thru 15. The Lake County Lightning also fields a mens over 50 team which plays in a senior league throught the summer. Lake County Lightning Travel Baseball Club Mission Statement
Lake County Lightning Travel Baseball is an organization to provide a higher level of competition than a community level or feeder level league could provide. We feel that by providing the opportunity to practice and compete at the highest level, we will better prepare our baseball players to compete at a higher level as they continue to develop their skills. We will:
Be a positive influence on the personal and physical development of all team members as players and competitors. Provide an atmosphere for learning at all times with an emphasis on goal orientated practices and games. Play the game the right way, as there are no shortcuts to success. Put a major emphasis on positive behaviors on and off the field when it comes to learning how to deal with successes, mistakes, and hardships and even parental expectations. Enable players the chance to succeed, not fail and the ability to know the difference. Play and practice in a team first atmosphere using competition, enthusiasm and intensity as vehicles to improve each and every day regardless of outcomes. Have fun and learn to co-exist to build life long memories and experiences. We will not:

Ever allow us to be bigger than the game or our competitors. Allow any behaviors that may come from parents, players or fans that can negatively affect our players, coaches, team or our program.
