💚 What a busy and exciting Monday at KidsUnited Mundelein! 💚

We were thrilled to welcome several of our students to a special morning class while hosting WGN’s “Around Town” segment. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the heart of our program: using soccer as a tool to support the physical, personal, intellectual, and social development of children ages 1.5–9.

⚽🌞 Coach Laura and Coach Alejandro had an amazing time connecting with the kids and families in our community at Libertyville’s Lunch in the Park! We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by our tent to play, learn, and say hello. It was especially fun seeing some of our KidsUnited members out enjoying the event!

If you missed us this time, don’t worry—there’s another chance to join the fun! 📅 Mark your calendars for Friday, June 26 and come visit us at Cook Park in downtown Libertyville from 11-2. We’ll have soccer activities, fun crafts, and prizes! Plus, you can enjoy delicious food from local vendors while spending a beautiful day in the park.

Meet Alicia and her son, Julian! ⚽️💚

Julian has been part of the KidsUnited family since we opened our doors in April, and it has been such a joy watching him grow both on and off the field. We're grateful to share Alicia's observations about his experience in our program!

Over the past few months, we've seen tremendous growth in Julian's gross motor skills, confidence, and social development. He brings incredible energy to every class—and when he scores a goal, he celebrates like a champion! 🎉🥅

At KidsUnited, we're passionate about helping children build skills for life through the game of soccer, and Julian is a wonderful example of that growth in action.

🌟 June Player Spotlight: Meet Serenity! 🌟

This month, we’re excited to celebrate Serenity as our June Spotlight Player!

As a member of our Drills to Skills class, Serenity is experiencing soccer for the very first time—and what an incredible journey it has been. Since her first day on the field, she has shown tremendous growth in both confidence and determination.

Serenity has worked hard to develop her ball mastery skills, demonstrating perseverance and a positive attitude every step of the way. Her ball control has improved tremendously, and she’s continually challenging herself to learn and grow.

As we’ve introduced small-sided games, Serenity has become one of the first players to attack the ball and has done an amazing job learning how to create space and get open for passes. Her effort, focus, and willingness to learn make her a joy to coach!

⚽👏 Way to go, Serenity! We’re so proud of your progress and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. Keep up the great work!

With more than 30 years of combined soccer experience, Coach Kurtis and Coach Luis share a deep passion for the game and an even greater passion for helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.

For Coach Kurtis, soccer is more than a sport—it's part of who he is.

Coach Luis says, “From the first time I played, I fell in love with the game- I want to give that same gift to the kids I coach”
