I was reminded again today how life affects fitness.
In general, I think we as women are too hard on ourselves. We always think we have to push through things - that we have to pretend everything is fine and carry on.
I encourage my clients to tell me how they’re feeling so I can adjust their fitness accordingly. Sleep, stress, family situations, work, kids, hobbies - there are all kinds of things that can impact what you feel and your energy levels day to day. Ignoring how you’re feeling doesn’t do you any favors when it comes to fitness. I’m not saying you should skip your workout every time you’re feeling some kind of way, but listening to your body and honoring that by adjusting your workout is so important. It helps cement that mind-body connection.
Don’t ignore what your body is trying to tell you.
