Conservation continues with us!

Last evening I had a great opportunity to teach my Cub Scout den about public land and conservation! We went to our local marsh and did a 1 mile hike. I pointed out various things, explained how they do controlled burns in the area and why, we where able to see 3 deer off in the distance, found some mushrooms, found a frog but best of all it allowed the kids to be kids!

After the hike we wrapped up the meeting sitting on the tailgate and talked about what we learned. Then I surprised the kids with a gracious gift from and . They each got the latest PF magazine and a PF hat. All the kids where so excited and asked if they could come back and hike again. They packed in snacks and left no trash!

Any one weigh there chicken eggs? Do you see any difference as they get older?

This scale was used by my great grandmother on our farm. It sat as decoration for years and now my family is using it to track egg weights as the chickens get older.
