When we started the Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling program, our vision was bigger than wins, medals, and championships.

We wanted to create opportunities for young women to discover how strong they really are.

That is why we are so excited about our first-ever Girls Wrestling Summer Camp.

Our clinician lineup represents exactly what girls wrestling can become. A state champion who is now a medical student. An award-winning high school coach pursuing a doctorate. A collegiate All-American helping athletes reach the next level. A Kamiak alumna who carried the lessons of wrestling into academic and professional success.

These women come from different backgrounds and experiences, but they all prove the same thing:

Wrestling builds confidence.
Wrestling builds resilience.
Wrestling opens doors.

Whether your daughter is stepping onto a wrestling mat for the very first time or looking to continue growing in the sport, this camp is designed to provide a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment where girls can learn from outstanding role models and discover what they are capable of.

Lady Knights Banner Unveiling

Today we are proud to unveil our newest Lady Knights Wrestling banner honoring Kamiak alumna Rebecca Serati.

Rebecca was part of the early foundation of the Lady Knights program, wrestling all four years at Kamiak. During her career she placed 8th at the Washington State Championships as a sophomore and finished her senior season with a remarkable 4th place state finish and 49 wins. She was also a two-time District Champion and two-time Regional Runner-Up.

Today, Rebecca is continuing her success off the mat at Binghamton University, where she is enrolled in an honors program pursuing a degree in accounting. She has also accepted an internship with Ernst and Young in their Seattle Audit Practice.

Rebecca continues to stay active through fitness and running, carrying the lessons she learned through wrestling into her everyday life.

We are especially excited to announce that Rebecca will be returning this summer as one of the featured clinicians at our Kamiak Lady Knights Summer Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity for young wrestlers—especially those who are new to the sport—to learn from one of the athletes who helped build our program.

Hello Wrestlers and Families,

The Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling program is excited to announce our first ever 2026 Girls Wrestling Summer Camp, taking place June 30th – July 2nd.

Please note: while this camp is being hosted and run by the Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling program, it will be held at the MARINER High School Wrestling Room due to fire alarm system updates currently taking place at Kamiak High School this summer.

This girls-only camp is specifically designed to welcome and encourage girls who are new to wrestling or just getting started in the sport. No experience is necessary. Our goal is to create a fun, supportive, and positive environment where athletes can learn the basics of wrestling, build confidence, and discover how strong and capable they can be.

The camp will be led by:
• Ally De La Cruz – Kamiak Alumni & 2017 Girls State Champion
• Sophie Averill – Woodinville High School Head Coach
• Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling Coaches assisting with supervision and coaching throughout camp

At Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling, we believe wrestling should build more than athletes. We focus on helping girls grow in confidence, resilience, leadership, and self-belief both on and off the mat. Our coaching philosophy emphasizes encouragement, effort, teamwork, and creating a welcoming environment where every athlete can succeed at their own pace.

This camp is a great opportunity for girls to:
• Learn wrestling basics in a beginner-friendly environment
• Build confidence and athletic skills
• Meet new friends and teammates
• Learn from successful female wrestlers and coaches
• Discover the sport of girls wrestling in a supportive atmosphere

Camp Information:
• Cost: $150 per wrestler
• Dates: June 30th, July 1st, July 2nd
• Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Grades: 1st–12th Grade Girls Only
• Location: MARINER High School Wrestling Room
• Wrestlers should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and wrestling shoes each day

Today we’re proud to unveil the first of our new Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling legacy banners.

These 5’ x 3’ banners will honor every Lady Knight state placer and state participant and will hang in our wrestling room as a reminder of the history being built in this program.

It feels fitting that the very first banner belongs to CJ.

CJ was part of the very first freshman class of the Lady Knights program during the 2018–2019 season and helped lay the foundation for what this team is today.

Since graduating, CJ has joined the CSPI program and will be attending before transferring to to pursue a business degree.

We’re also excited to welcome her back this season as a coach and mentor for the next generation of Lady Knights.

The Kamiak Lady Knights had a strong showing at Girls 4A District 1, and the progress of this program continues to speak for itself.
📈 This year, we placed higher as a team than last season, scored more total team points, and sent 10 wrestlers to Districts, up from just 4 last year — a huge step forward for Kamiak Girls Wrestling.

🏆 8th Annual Lady Knights Invitational – Record-Breaking Success! 🏆

This past weekend, the Kamiak Lady Knights Wrestling Program proudly hosted our 8th Annual Lady Knights Invitational, and it was truly one for the history books.

This year’s tournament set new records for:
✔️ Largest number of competing athletes
✔️ Most participating schools
✔️ Six competition mats
✔️ Events across the main gym, auxiliary gym, and wrestling room
✔️ Our biggest hospitality room and volunteer team
✔️ Most officials ever at our event
✔️ Largest number of guests served
We are beyond proud of how our team, coaches, families, and volunteers came together to make this happen. This event reflects what is possible when a community shows up for our athletes.
We’re also proud of our wrestlers who competed with grit and heart:

We’re proud to be preparing for the 8th Annual Lady Knights Invitational, one of the longest-running girls-only wrestling tournaments in Washington State. What started as a small idea has grown into a special tradition that brings teams together from across the region to celebrate girls wrestling.
