I have been trying to understand kata for over 45+ years and to this day both online and anywhere I look and read I find that we all have our own ideas. Maybe that's what it's supposed to be. Yes, like some of you I have my own Ideas and I believe that Saisan is one of the oldest coming from China. But, then Sanshin and Daruma teaching the Seoulin Monks I think of those times and understandings. People training in the USA today are learning less and less from the new instructors because of the fact that students mostly are taking karate and not studying the Martial Arts. I'm not looking for he answer here I'm just venting. I will continue looking for a more solid answer or maybe I will feel that I've found a more suitable answer on my own. Thanks for listening Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
