Typically I spend time in prayer and reading my Bible to uncover a word God might have for me for the new year. This year, I decided to look up some verses for 2024 (20.24) and two really stood out. This is the first one, Acts 20:24 which says, "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God." I think it resonated with me because of how slack I've become in testifying to the grace of God in my life and how weak I've been in following the calling Christ has put on my life over these last couple of years - more about that another day!...

As a health coach, the Emotion Wheel is something we study and use with our clients. As a Christian health coach, I try to incorporate God’s Word in my conversations with clients. I love the way they have combined them by providing Bible references!

Several years ago I stopped making New Year’s resolutions and started praying for God to reveal one word to concentrate on for the year. This year three words keep coming to mind every time… commit, discipline, dig in. They all kind of mean the same thing so I’ve decided God must really want to be sure I get the picture.

When I saw this image I thought of those three words. You can have a plan but if you don’t commit to do the work, discipline yourself to follow through and dig in when things get tough you’re just sitting in the tracks waiting to get ran over.

A few years ago when we lived by the beach I had the good fortune to see baby turtles hatch. Most often they will emerge from their nest during the night but this group decided to try it in the middle of the day.

The Turtle Team was there to help these little ones get to the ocean but one thing I found so interesting is how many turned and tried to walk parallel to the ocean instead of going into it. Why you may ask...because they are designed to follow the light to the sea. That light is usually the moon over the ocean but since they hatched during the day the sun was brightly shining down the beach.

In order to survive, the turtles must get into the sea. However, they had hatched outside of their normal time which caused confusion but one they knew was to follow the light.

As Christians, we should always be heading toward the light just like this little guy was. Even though volunteers, other turtles and a cheering crowd all urged him in one direction he was determined to follow the sun.

I pray that I am always willing to work as hard and be as persistent in following the Son.

"Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:12

It's been quite a while since I've posted here and honestly, I've thought about deleting this page many times. God has had us in the desert for a few years now and I've found myself disconnecting and growing quiet.

I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to have the Ultimate Comforter on my side. Through Him we can endure all things!

Lately, God has impressed upon me to begin engaging here once again so today is the day I step out in obedience and post again. I'm not sure what direction 3 Cord Fitness will be taking but as long as I'm following His direction, I'm okay with that.

For now, I'd love to reconnect with you, pray for you, and encourage you when I can. Life is hard but God always makes a way!
