Here is something your humble correspondent wishes someone had explained (or probably that they had listened to better) sooner. The simplest way to experience the flow of qi is to relax, because qi flows to the parts we relax, and it's easier to feel it in the part relaxed. So, to move qi from neck to hands, relax the neck, then the shoulders, then the upper arms, then the lower arms and finally the hands and fingers, and repeat. Further, by imagining that something is flowing in and/or out of our hands, we can feel qi even more. It's not all in our heads! But it might be in our hands, which are especially sensitive. The study of qi should commence in the hands, Sifu says. Good qi to you!
