The Tuff Camp Saw didn't start with a marketing meeting.

It started around the campfire.

Tom and Grant Sega are outdoor enthusiasts themselves, and they wanted a camp saw that combined the features they liked from other saws while eliminating the things they didn't.

That idea eventually became the Tuff Camp Saw — a lightweight, folding saw designed to be easy to transport without sacrificing capability.

It's a pretty good example of how we like to develop products:
Use it. Find the problem. Build something better.

That's the Spring Creek way.

What started with one product — the Canoe Seat/Yoke — has grown into a lineup of American-made equipment for paddle sports, camping, water recreation, and industrial applications.

And while our product lineup has changed quite a bit over the years, one thing hasn't:
We still believe good products should solve real problems.

What makes a piece of outdoor gear worth taking on your next adventure?
For us, it starts with why it was made.

Spring Creek Manufacturing was born in 1985 when founder Ted Newberg wanted a better way to carry, haul, portage, and propel his canoe. That first Canoe Seat/Yoke became the beginning of a company built around solving real problems for people who love the outdoors.

Today, we're still doing much of the same thing — listening to outdoor enthusiasts, identifying problems, and building practical solutions right here in Mountain Iron, Minnesota.

Good gear starts with a good idea.
Great gear starts with knowing what people actually need.
