The King of the Wing Partnership would like to apologize to all racers and fans for any confusion after this weekend’s races at Colorado National Speedway. The Morgan Motor Sports Entry with Driver Davey Hamilton Jr. presented their car to KOTW Officials no less than 5 times prior to Sunday’s Feature event for various technical inspection items. Each time passing. It is also noted Every competitor went through the same tech and all cars passed. Sunday night’s feature was run under the same rules as Saturday night. After Sunday’s feature the top 3 drivers were to remain on the front stretch with cars to sign autographs. At no time did anyone acting on behalf of KOTW direct any car to tech, therefore no refusal to tech. If any competitor wishes to protest a car after the race, they must present an official protest with a $500 fee. If the car is found to be legal the money is not refunded. If it is found illegal the money would be refunded to the owner/driver submitting the protest. No official protest was received from any team Sunday night, only accusations, however with these accusations the KOTW Race Director approached the Morgan Motorsports team and requested to check restrictors again. The team obliged and the restrictors met the 1 7/8” requirement. We appreciate the teams understanding and allowing the inspection to take place.
