Students from Aviation 2 and 3 had an amazing time participating in Mountain Home High School’s HHS Academy CSI event at the fairgrounds!
They shared their knowledge about drones, explaining how they work, how they’re used in law enforcement, and even giving a live flight demonstration. Each group also got a unique experience as students captured aerial photos during the demo.
I am incredibly proud of this group for doing such a fantastic job and representing our aviation program with professionalism and enthusiasm! ✈️

After learning the basics of aircraft electrical systems, Aviation 1 students put their knowledge into action! ✈️⚡
Using LED bulbs and a small drone motor, they designed and built their own model electrical systems—seeing firsthand how power flows through the components that keep aircraft running. Hands-on learning at its best!

As part of their exploration into the principles of electric motors, students built their own simple direct current (DC) motors. Seeing electromagnetic forces in action and watching their creations spin for the first time was an exciting hands-on way to connect theory to real-world aviation technology.

After diving into how carburetors work in aircraft engines, Aviation 1 students put theory into action by building their own Venturi tubes!
By blowing through the tubes, they created a low-pressure area that pulled water up and out the other end—demonstrating the same Venturi effect that helps fuel mix with air in an aircraft engine.
There’s nothing better than seeing science come to life right in your hands! 👏🔬

Students in Aviation 2 put their flight planning skills to the test by analyzing real weather data, calculating wind corrections, and determining accurate flight times. After completing their plans, they climbed into the simulators to see how well their calculations held up in action.
From the planning table to the cockpit, these future aviators are learning what it truly takes to navigate the skies with precision and confidence!
