Skydive Mountain City Skydive Mountain City offers memorable and exhilarating tandem skydives over the beautiful Blue Ridge

Skydive Mountain City offers tandem skydives over the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Tandem skydiving is one of the most popular ways to enjoy skydiving for the first time. Attached to an experienced tandem skydiving instructor, you'll jump from the airplane and experience freefall before your parachute opens and you glide back down to Earth, surrounded by the rolling Tennessee and North Carolin

a Mountains, the majestic Blue Ridge. We operate June to September, and will also be open in October when the leaves change colors. Please see our website for availability and more information. Some of the requirements: You need to be at least 18 years old and weigh 220 lbs or less. For licensed jumpers: You will need a B-license and a minimum of 100 jumps. We will have courses and special events for licensed jumpers so make sure to check in often. If you are in the area and want to stop in, please call ahead since we have limited slots available for licensed jumpers outside of special events and courses.

We are asking for volunteers next weekend!
EVENT posted in previous post.
We had a group of skydivers out last weekend followed with a handful of people from OH all week. I can not say Thank you enough!
There are so much debris and belongings along the road and creek side (Roan Creek) for miles. Feels like an endless and impossible task for the property owners.

Supplies are still coming in by the truck loads and Amazon. I’m exhausted but my heart is smiling.

We have also started to help with some rebuild of homes; small and big projects. I will post more about this as we move forward.

A lot of you have asked what’s needed in the area. I have made an Amazon wishlist, figured this is an easy way to keep it updated!

We truly appreciate everyone’s generosity! We are still receiving truck and plane loads of supplies daily. It is an amazing beautiful thing! We are sending the supplies out to several small communities constantly.
As we are continuing with the clean up, we are also rebuilding. There is so much to do!

A lot of areas are still without power, and temps dropped yesterday. We even got our first snow 😳

As most of you know our area and surrounding areas was hit hard by Hurricane Helene.

“Fall Vibes” is canceled this year along with the rest of our season. If you have a booking and we have not reached out to you yet, we are working on it and we ask you to be patient with us. We are aware that communication has not been the greatest after the storm but hoping we will be caught up and back on track shortly.

A lot of you have asked how to help, and that is probably one of the hardest question to answer.
But I’ll try.

1. COMMUNITY- our area and surrounding areas needs both supplies and extra man power. Supplies are getting more specific. Chainsaws, heaters, sleeping bags, tents, camping cooktops, propane, tools and building supplies.
Gift Cards to Gas stations (Shell, Marathon, Speedway), Lowe’s home improvement, Tractor Supply, Amazon. For giftcards send to: Linda Cassese C/O Nightline, 300 Industrial Dr, Mountain City TN 37683
We do have an Amazon wish list and will post seperately.
Skydivers: we will get together this weekend and clean up. Sending info seperately.
Other: please reach out if you want to help. We will try to point you in the right direction or let you know when we have a group effort.

2. BUSINESS- the best way to support us right now is to be patient with us. If you have an existing booking, you can support us with rescheduling for next season. We will send out an email and post more about how you can help us. We had a rough season as it was and having to now close down and cancel our big event hurt us a lot.
Between increased air traffic on a small airport, road conditions, limited housing and the devistation around us we feel this is the only right thing to do. Our time and efforts should be focused on rebuilding and helping everyone in need.

3. PERSONAL- I’m trying my best to deal with the loss of my home, having to shut down the business for the season, being a mom, loss of income, stress about what’s next, and the emotions that comes with all of this. I’m trying hard to help the community as best as I can. It’s a lot. However, the incredible LOVE & SUPPORT I’m feeling from everyone is beyond any words. There is a GoFund me set up by my friends, you can find info about that on previous post.

I would not be able to handle much of it if it wasn’t for all the amazing humans around me.

❤️ Linda

I’ve been asked to post for many reasons. I have tried so many times but I have had a hard time sharing. I’m tired and heartbroken, but at the same time I’m full of energy and my heart is so full!
I will start with this post and will try to be better at sharing.

1. My home is gone. Everyone knows how very much I loved that place. The backyard with the grass, tree line, big deck hanging over the creek surrounded by the mountains. That was my spot. I was always at such a peace sitting there.
It’s no longer there. It was hard to go through the house after the storm, with layers of mud and water damage. We were able to save some items, and the other stuff we can get again. What has broken my heart is that the backyard is gone. You can’t rebuild that. There are very few that knows my full life story, but it’s been hard and in that backyard I had finally found my peace. I will find it again, but it has broken my heart.
❤️
2. My DZ…. My beautiful tiny DZ. I have had a season for sure! You can’t even make up the stuff that keeps happening. It is safe and was spared through the hurricane. However, I can not finish the season. Even if the immediate area is still there and beautiful, As soon as you are up in the air you will see so much devastation. There is also so much to do that it just does not feel right. We will instead get together when we were supposed to to have the “Fall Vibes” and it would mean the world to me if you could camp out and help clean up some of the area. We will focus on next season. I will share info later.
🪂
3. Supplies… This has been amazing and disgusting all at once. The skydiving community and other friends has kicked ass! The love is endless. So many DZ has flown out so many loads (we have so far received about 130,000 lbs even with the slow down and waste of time by the sheriff department) and then forced to drive truckloads. I can’t even find words. The love is overwhelming.
Then the ugliness… the sheriff department did threaten to arrest me. They said publicly I was stealing. They wanted me to bring all supplies to their one and only organization, then I could request items back. They did take a few plane loads of items from me (I hate the word me and mine). I were able to divert the others so I could get it to the people and organizations that had requested it. There is a YouTube video that went viral and a FB post that had a lot of views about this and I will address all of it soon. It is disgusting to me what happen and how it happened. I do want to make it clear that it was very local (I do believe to know exactly the person responsible) and had nothing to do with the airport or the “big” government. I stepped back and found a solution, and then once again amazing people stepped up and together it was handled.
📦
4. Friends…. The amount of new friends together with “old” ones… I can not in words express the gratefulness and love I feel.
THANK YOU
❤️❤️❤️
5. The hard part…. Asking for help. I am working hard, sleeping only a few hours a night. I’m trying to help the community as best as I can. I Have not seen my youngest since before the storm (I do not want her to go through this). I’m trying to find a place (we can stay with friends for now), I’m trying to find a job until season open up again. It is a lot. My amazing friends did start a GoFund me page for me, and it took some convincing for me to say yes. But, it has relived a huge amount of stress. Knowing we can get food and gas. Knowing I can continue to help the community and not having to choose right in this minute. I am stubborn, I know this 😂 with this I have also promised to share the link.
🥰
6. Friends…. I can not name you all. I also don’t want to forget anyone. The amount of new friends from all over the country are incredible.
All the support from “old” friends is overwhelming.

Love you all! ❤️

To be clear, Linda would never ask for this kind of help as she’s too busy coordinating relief efforts for all of Johnson County, TN right now. But she may have given someone access to social media before service interruptions who will absolutely ask for that help on behalf of her and her daughter. I know several of you have been asking how you can help. This is what our Sky Family and community is about.

Thank you to each and every person who has donated and continues to donate whether it be supplies or your time or monetary, it all helps 💜

Thank you Skydive Paraclete XP, Joe D’Annunzio and gang!
Casa came with much needed supplies for our community today!
I can not thank you enough!

To our Mountain City, we work with some local organizations and make sure they bring the supplies where it is needed.

A lot has happened. We got hit hard by the storm. It is hard to describe in words.
Roads are gone. Houses are lost. Lives are lost.
We have limited roads we can use to get to people that are still stuck at home. No or limited cell service. No power or internet. No water.
Roads in and out to this area is limited to none.

On a personal level I lost my home and I can not describe the feeling of seeing the street and area you love so much being wiped out and you can’t even recognize it. I can’t even get to it since the bridge is gone. I am just one of many.

Skydivers are an amazing group of people. I can not say thank you enough to all of you that has reached out from all over.
Thanks to all of you We will have planes coming with supplies to the area! Which is very much needed. (Airport is now open)

It fills my heart! ❤️
~ Linda

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

****** Edit: *****
Our area has limited outside help. It’s hard to get to us due to roads being washed away. But also, we are a small rural area tucked up in the corner of TN/NC/VA.
If anyone wants to help: XP, Coastal (Chandler, Ed, Kelly, Eric) and many more are flying in with supplies and are taking donations. If we can get more planes from other areas or if they can run a few more pick ups when here I can try to coordinate.
I’ll try to get to my street today and I know I won’t have service there so limited availability to check messages.
