Feeling blocked with it comes to starting an exercise habit? You can actually get the health benefits of exercise with just 22 minutes of exercise a day — and you might be surprised what "counts" as exercise. Kiss your excuses goodbye!

I was interviewed recently on Dr. Beau Beard’s podcast.

I have never been interviewed for anything before, I was a bit nervous but I think I did alright 😂 I am very grateful for the opportunity. We discuss Rolfing, movement, hunting, awe, my brush with losing my ability to move during my Guillain-barre experience, peak and ecstatic experiences and a bunch of other things.

"We think if we can make our immune systems stronger, we’ll be better able to fight off this coronavirus, as well as other viral and bacterial pathogens"

Friendly, unsolicited encouragement Part 2: There has been and continues to be a sharp increase in the amount of ambient stress, fear, and panic in our culture at this critical time.
It is difficult to make good decisions, learn new information, or adapt to changing circumstances in a chronic state of stress, fear, and panic. The functioning of the Immune and Cardiovascular systems also suffer greatly under these conditions, leaving us considerably more vulnerable to pathogens at this critical time.
If you are being heavily affected by this, NOW is the time to learn and implement strategies to protect, calm, and strengthen your mind, if you are able to. Now is the time to stop being pulled mentally in so many directions, and to gather your attention and energy back to yourself and to where you are, whenever you can; for the sake of you, those around you, and those dependent on you.
I hope this helps. With love and encouragement.

Sad, but true. Too many people rather keep putting on band-aids instead of finding their way out of the tall, sharp grass that keeps knicking away at their skin every step they take - "the death of a thousand cuts".

They'd rather cover up the damage their lifestyle is causing them then do the real work that'll make a real change.

"Wear a mask!", they'll say, before consuming more sugar in a day than the body can handle in a year, and wash it down with some fear mongering media. "It's bad out there folks, real bad."

Junk food, junk exercise, and junk media - the recipe for...?

As a movement and health coach, I see it all the time - people want a quick fix, and they want it now. (I'm sure all my fellow health practicitoners I've tagged here do, too.)

If you think thay way - sorry to burst your bubble, if you want real, sustainable change - you're going have to do the work and put in the time. No mask or vaccine can save you from a junk nutrition lifestyle.

Let this be a wake up call, don't hit the snooze button.

Know that there's a better way, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

. This is not a “message” for those of you thinking that. It’s simply my view of what I see - people only talking about masks, social distancing, and waiting for a vaccine to fix all this. There is no talk of health. So that’s the majority - the “line.” We’re literally being told to keep our fear levels high and not let our guard down. Keep your fear up and your health down.

Repost from our newest MovNat Licensed Facility, Treino Gaia 🇧🇷🌟

The scientific, medical and nutritional facilities of modern society increasingly increase our life expectancy, but this does not always mean quality elderly life. For example, statistics show that elderly Americans live, on average, for 11.7 years with physical disabilities. ☹️

Natural movement has a lot to offer people 70, 80, 90, 100 years of age, because movement is for everyone! With the necessary adjustments of challenges and requested capacities, we can avoid atrophy and revive physical skills such as balancing, walking, rolling, sitting on the floor, hanging, lifting, carrying, bringing more quality to the motor life of the elderly. 🍃

If I can offer you some friendly, unsolicited encouragement: NOW is the time to get your body ready (cardiovascular, respiratory, and immune systems in particular) for Covid, if you are able and especially if you feel vulnerable.
Taking precautions is important. But this cannot be totally avoided; I think we really need to work on accepting this fact.
It has already been time to prepare your body. If you have not already - NOW is the time, for yourself and for others.
Treat this with the same concern that you have with taking precautions, and *with the same concern you have about people not taking the precautions you want them to take*.
I hope this helps. With love and encouragement.

Consider the Alabama heat + humidity to be a gift, especially given that we live indoors. Sweating is very good for you! Our environment makes sweating easy to access with little time and effort.
One of my favorite routines this time of year is to go out and mix up a walk/run/hills/sprints. Work up a good sweat and heart rate. Then return and expand with other movements like lifting heavy things, climbing, etc, which continues the sweat. After this I go outside and lay out in the sun, still continuing to sweat. After all of that, I finish off with a cool/cold shower. This whole thing could be as short as half an hour or as long as you want.
Voila! 🏃 💦 💪🏽 💦 ☀️ 💦 🚿 ❄️

Sweating it out in the Alabama heat and humidity, having fun with one of my favorite workout props - logs, and even putting to use my new bow saw Father's Day gift from Kylie.
