🐎 I am opening our doors once again to accept 𝖲𝖤𝖫𝖤𝖢𝖳 horses interested in cutting, sorting and cowhorse training with the intent to compete. (We will not be training reining at this time)

🗓️ We will secure booking •NOW• for training scheduled to begin in •March/April• with aim for competing this •Fall 2024•

🏠 Accommodations include an extra large indoor stall with free continual access to fresh water, quality high protein forage, and ample feeding regimines. Their stalls are kept clean twice daily and maintained with non-dust bedding. Mineral free choice is included. Regular farrier scheduling, braided mane care, weekly bathing, BMI conditioning, and hauling services are available.

🦬 Our horses will work regularly on buffalo calves to ensure the highest opportunity for success in cowhorse, sorting and/or cutting. We work in an outdoor 100x100 arena and welcome owners to sit in and to gain experience.

📲 Please give me, Cassidy, a call or text and I’d be happy to discuss your horse(s) and answer any of your questions. Thank you kindly.🤠🙏🏼

Dream Team is hard at work this evening. Spooks Sparkler (Diamond) did phenomenal today. My cool-down rider also did a great job walking her out after a successful reined cow horse pattern with her trainer, Cassidy Laney.
😉😍 Love this team !!

Not everything can be taught on the ground, not everything can be improved in the saddle! In my experience, if your horse is having trouble figuring out a maneuver (like the cut seen here), take a moment and do the maneuver from the ground. Teaching a horse how to perform a maneuver in their own balance (without you on thier back) can significantly improve their comfortability and ability in performing the maneuver even better. Next time I go to ride this mare on the flag, she will work off her hind end, get underneath herself and not come forward like before. I won’t have to get onto her or fight her, now that she understands this maneuver better. She will more readily stay in her path (not veering towards the flag) and will be much more balanced and furthermore impressive and natural in her maneuvers. She will then go forward to reading the flag and when to rate her turn. Speed will then come after accuracy. Soon this mare will cut with a rein entirely untouched. I don’t force my horses into form, I help them find what works best for them and what’s acceptable and I improve on their natural strengths into eventually impressive rides and show caliber maneuvers. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your horse is show them how you want it done and then just stay out of their way.

👏🏼 "I can’t tell you how many horses I’ve gotten in from frustrated owners who wasted their money somewhere/with someone else! Do your research, ask the right questions, don’t waste your money! I’ve gotten horses 1000x as far in 90 days as some have gotten in 6 months! Yes, I’m very proud of that as I’ve worked very hard under accredited apprenticeships to learn the best possible training procedures. No, no steps were skipped, no holes were to be seen, body was solidly in control nose to nail. No, I would not send my horse to just anybody who calls themselves a “trainer” or simply speaks in confidence. Confidence is not knowledge! Confidence does not always mean experience! The ones who truly train quality do not brag, they do not boast, do not self-indulge or know it all - they are humble and let their work speak for itself. The ones who are quality are those that try to educate others to a higher level and better all those around them! I can’t tell you how frustrating it can be to see a great well trained fancy tuned CORRECT horse be ridden by the wrong hands or “trainer” and it all goes to waste.. Price does equal quality (in most circumstances)! I can’t tell you how frustrating it can be to see clients waste their money for months and months of training for barely any results! It goes both ways.. This, my friends, is a very true post - - -"

I went back through several pictures that I have of reining horses playing in the pasture and found comparable pictures of how they perform under saddle. There is no denying that these horses have a natural self carriage when you look at the free playing pictures next to the riding photos. As you can see in this collage each horse has its own comfort zone from bridled to stretched out with their necks and low, level to above level headsets. The beauty to our judging system is that the horse is not judged on its style but rather judged on its ability. How our horses carry themselves in a manner that is comfortable and easy for them is bred into their conformation. You get the most out of a horse by being mindful of its comfort zone and making the best out of its ability. And next time you come across somebody from another equine discipline that thinks a reining horse carries itself in an unnatural frame, show them this collage and maybe (just maybe) it will help them to understand what is actually natural for the horses that we love so much!
